Last minute tournament in May...

Recommended Posts

My u-15 Division II Girls team in Chattanooga has had a change of plans and now needs to consider a May 15/16th tournament. The only two events I have found have been the Clarksville Shootout (Clarksville, TN), and the inaugaral TN Rush Spring Invitational (Jackson, TN)....Didn't see much that particular weekend in Georgia or Alabama, unless I missed something..

Does anyone have any feedback regarding the Clarksville event..they have combined u-14/15s in the past due to small team participating, so I am curious...This is the first year for the Rush, so I assume not much is known about it and number of teams...

Any info would be helpful...

Of all the years in soccer, the best event we attended was the Texas Shootout in Houston. It was great preparation for States and was likely one of the best attended by college coasts as both coasts were very well represented. It was also one of the best organized events too.

Okay...that all said, I looked for the dates this year for you....the same weekend as TN States. :popcorneater:

DOes anyone in the TN office have a calendar ? :roflolk: Seems like nothing changes. Despite all the positives that have taken place in TN SOccer, this is one of the largest flaws....

Thanks Canes-We ended up going to the Clarksville Shootout...not a heavy hitter tourney, but at least they let the teams play despite the weather....lots of rain, some occassional lightning, but they rearranged and got the games in....kudos to their management to allow a little field damage to occur...its just grass ! My u-15 team won the u-15/16 girls division...

We won the u-15 division 2 state tourney last weekend also..headed to Broken Arrow. OK for the Region 3 event now...

Looking forward to hearing from you in the Fall with Women's HS ball...Go Notre Dame !!!! :thumb:

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
