What would you do?

Hopefully, I would score enough runs to take the field one more time. Then, his first batter gets it between the numbers.

Sounds like something Frazier from Shelbyville would do if they would ever be up that much.

Did Frazier steal your girlfriend or something! Geez. :hungry:

Nope we do not like the same flavor.

Yep, First batter in the box between the numbers. Busch league stuff... But there must be something going on that we know nothing about..There is coaches of teams i know that several people would do that to because the way things have been handled in the past... So be careful we don't know what has happened in the past before we jump to conclusions.

Between the numbers isn't horrible. It wasn't an earhole and yell duck infraction or a duckless straight earhole.

What's the sign for these? Middle finger down touch left knee is between the numbers, earhole and duck is middle finger down with a waggle and straight earhole no warning is middle finger up on the chest protector? :thumb:

Frasier's definitely old school. He'd know the proper etiquette for sending the appopriate message depending upon the particular occassion. :hungry:

Perhaps he was trying ensure the run rule? Not knowing the circumstances it could be any number of factors. It is getting closer to the postseason, and perhaps his pitching is running thin and was trying to not use his bullpen. Or maybe he is a jerk who cares more about run differential than baseball etiquette.

First, let me talk about the intentional hitting of a batter - what a punk, bush league action! Anyone who says "only in the ribs, numbers or leg should have to endure the ball hitting them to see how it feels. I don't care if they throw it 65 mph - that is still hard enough to break a rib or bruse a hitter. What would happen if after an intentional hit batter the next hitter takes a cut for the fence - and just so happens that his grip slips... oops, my mistake pitcher - sorry about the bat in your ear. Where does it stop? What a sorry excuse for a post - and I don't care if it has been used throughout the years as a message. Maybe the message needs a response.

Meh. It's part of the game. I'm not for head hunting, but throwing inside and plunking one every now and then within the context of the game can be appropriate. If you toss one in there at 65 mph, I'm gonna have to flinch to make it look like I was trying to get out of the way. If I stick my hand out there and catch it and throw it back to the pitcher, do I still get to take my base? The answer is no. Been there, done that.

There are definitely reasons for bunting, stealing and squeezing with a big lead and they are usually selfish ones. If you're going to bunt to get on base and shorten the game when your team has a big lead, I'm going to make it easy on you. Kid gets on base without even having to lay the bunt down. I don't have to waste alot of pitches until he gets the bunt down and he gets first base. Win/win.

Seriously, it would depend upon several factors for the launch thread example. The coach might have a legitimate excuse for showing up my team and I might not take it out on his next batter...................but I doubt it.

I'd walk to perserve the ten run rule if they had two runners is scoring postion and then I could play the infield back for the force. But to walk for the sake of intentional walk may just to show the kid the ultimate respect as a hitter. Of course the opposing coach could just as easily do that when they shook hands. Would have had to been there to know.

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
