sball22
Well with all that has been said I wonder if anyone really saw that the prediction was correct. Marshall Co. defeated creekwood 4 to 2. With all the boasting and bragging that went on looks as if the " team" with all the talent in 11AA fell about 2 runs short of of their victory in what was said to be a short game and the drive would be longer to a small comunity called MARSHALL CO. Well it was a great game minus the 10 minute down pour that came thru. After the rain subsided the fireworks were set off as Marshall county played tremendous defense and had big hits in a big inning to give this scrappy team the victory. All year long Marshall county has done this same thing game after game. Marshall county is tough as they come on defense and although they struggle at times at the plate this team finds a way to get the job done with key hits from the top of their batting order to the bottom. The pitching is solid with composure and seems like inside the circle there is never any panic or rush and as it should be this way for the pitching staff for this squad is defensively sound. Look for good things to come from this close knit softball team with some great players you'll see at the next level. Congratulations. Marshall Co. and best of luck the remainder of the playoffs. mcfan10
Can I ask how Camden hosts? It's an even year, and Marshal Co. is from the even district. Is it still done that way, or does it have to do with the realignment?
Lions4ever
Can I ask how Camden hosts? It's an even year, and Marshal Co. is from the even district. Is it still done that way, or does it have to do with the realignment? Here is the TSSAA website with the brackets: http://tssaa.org/2009Champions/StateSof ... Region.htm The home team rotates in the region finals with the top half of the bracket hosting in even years and the lower half in odd years. If a #1 and a #2 seed play for the c'ship then the #1 seed hosts regardless of bracket placement.
mcfan10
I thought that they used the even years for even districts. Guess I was wrong.
Lions4ever
Camden beat Marshall Co. today, 3-0. Brandenburg struck out nine MC batters. Capps had a HR, double and 2 RBI. Camden hosts Goodpasture in the sectional game. CHS has Graduation on Friday night, so the matchup likely will be moved to tomorrow (weather permitting), 5 p.m. at Camden City Park. Marshall Co. travels to Greenbrier. Camden/Goodpasture game cancelled for today. Will try for 4:00pm Friday if weather permits, if not then Saturday @ 5:00pm.
