Swader, Koger, and Malone are favorites among EVERY Mid Major in the area, as all three have High Major Potential....

Vince Redd is a football/basketball player who will likely go the football route at VaTech or UT.....

Swader is a major talent!!! He is my #1 prospect in the Class of 2003. He is a 6'8 WF who is very athletic, very smooth. He even ran PG some in high school. Kenyonna is a true High Major talent, but doesn't have the grades to go High Major. He will either have to go Juco, or go Mid Major so he can Prop 48......

Koger is another big time talent. He is a 6'5 G/WF who can really shoot the lights out. Koger is strong and athletic, though must learn to defend better. But he can really shoot it. An ACL tear his Jr year, and some signs of reagrivating the injury have left Koger with enough question marks to stay at the Mid Major level, though he is recieving mail from most of the High Major programs in the East/South.....

Malone, who played this past summer with both Swader and Koger with the Tn Travelers, is a 6'10 post with good size and build. He is a hopeful from all of the mid majors, but will most likely go slightly higher, like ConUSA/A-10, etc or higher......

I THINK IT WAS ON SEPT. 3 DAVE TELEP RATED MATT MALONE IN THE TOP 10 IN THE NATION IN THE SECTION ON BIG MEN THAT COULD SHOOT OUTSIDE, ALSO THEIR WAS A INTERVIEW ON HIS SITE A FEW DAYS LATER. GOMAB I HAVE NOT SEEN SWADER OR KOGER RATED ON THAT SITE, BUT YOU RATE THEM WAY ABOVE THIS KID. BUT I QUESS TELEP HAS SEEN THIS KID PLAY MORE SINCE MALONE WAS AT THE NIKE CAMP AND PLAYED ALL SUMMER. HAVE YOU SEEN THE MALONE KID PLAY MORE THAN ONCE.

Yeah, I have seen Malone play around 5 or 6 times just this past summer (plus a few times a few years ago). I give Malone a lot of credit, and say he will play High Major ball (at least at ConUSA, A-10, etc). I must have missed the Telep ranking on him, but did see the other article you mentioned. Malone, Koger, and Swader are all different types of players, but I like Swader's potential the best of the three. Again, all three played for the Travs this past summer, and Kenyonna was not question the second best player on the team, behind Lee Humphrey, and even made some All Tourney teams (including the tourney in St Louis). These are three of the premier players in the State.....

Swader didn't impress me when I saw him play on a national level. His long, long arms and athleticism is obvious, but he never put it to use. The same day, guard JuJuan Smith (who also has long arms and tons of athleticism) impressed more than myself. I'll try to catch him when his season starts.

Malone is indeed a big body with some nice post moves, but Swader has a lot more upside.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
