This TBCA state team is missing a few good ones. I'm shocked there are NO Dyer County players on there and that the Dodd kid from Northside isn't either. ??? I'm in NO WAY saying that the ones who did make it shouldn't have, but I would like to see the actual stats for all of these players.

I'm not very familiar with AA and AAA baseball but with less than 5 A players making the list I'm feeling that this list is a little political. With only 2 players from the two teams who played in the state championship? I know some of the stats from kids from those teams that were worthy of making the cut and i feel as though they were left out due to playing in a smaller division.

Actually, this may be the least political of the various lists that are published. First, the coach must nominate the player (obviously political - however, most coaches are happy to promote their players under normal circumstances). Next, the team is made up of 25 players from all classes based upon their statistics and their position. They are given a score based on a published formula, ranked by position and then the top players are named to the team (its math -- nothing political to it).

Formula for offensive stats: Total Bases + Runs Scored + RBI + Walks + HBP + Stolen Bases divided by Games Played

Formula for pitching stats: Wins (x5) + Saves (x3) + Strikeouts – Walks – Earned Runs
