Tigers94
I know he's a spread guy but do we have the personel to run the spread. Our O-line play has not been very good for a couple seasons. Seem kinda timid for lack of a better word.
allwaysright
Yes its the Spread with many wrinkles, the o line actually looks good right now--learning fast and working hard. Who knows until we go to pads, thats when we seperate the men from the boys. The off. looks good so far, the ball is hardley ever on the ground. eli
I would think that your new coach would know that practice right now is illegal. There should be no balls out right now. conditioning an lifting only. Nice way to get started, breaking tssaa policy.
Tigers94
So you cant do board work?

It sounds like you are doing routes and formations if "the ball is hardley ever on the ground". If the ball is out and coaches are working on board technique, formations, routes,etc... then you are definitly illegal.
allwaysright
balls on the ground, refers to the players on their own. not with coaches. lifting and conditioning is all they are doing with the coaches. We can see more when they go to passing league, when its legal !!!

We can see more when they go to passing league, when its legal !!! i think u all need to get a rule book.. It clearly states in BOLD that during the two week dead period all althletic facilties, weightrooms, practices and game fields must be closed and the players must not have no contact with the coaches at all ................. the kids can be at a differnent field like a park or something going over routes but no coaches may be present ... as for working out they may be done any where but the school once again WITH NO COACHES present....... TSSAA will be curious about this one HMMMM already breaking POLICY
wingman10
Used to be that the weight room and all football related facilities were locked during dead period. The players could work out at a fitness center in town, but not on campus.

And the kids can have a playbook and run thru stuff on their own.
