SE Tennessee/N Georgia all-star games

Split, 5-0 and 12-2.

This was a good group, despite several of the top teams around Chattanooga having a lot of non-seniors in their line-ups. A couple I thought would be on it may not have been available for whatever reason.

Yeah, Burgess, others, did well. I won't blame anyone for subbing difficulties, even over 2 games there are 18 players on the roster. There were even more who would have been good choices, Baird from GPS wasn't in it, and there are girls from Red Bank, East Ridge, Bradley, Chattanooga Christian, probably others, who've signed to play in college. One suggestion I'd have, split the groups into four teams with about 12 on each. Have the A/AA team play the NGa smaller schools, and the AAA/DII team play the larger NGa schools. Winners of each meet 30 minutes later, losers meet too. Play the games side by side so fans can watch some of both games if they want, or move the winners' game to the stadium. Only problem might be lack of pitching, in some years there may not be a lot of senior pitchers. There aren't a lot of Class AAA schools in SE Tennessee any more with enrollment drops, only Ooltewah, Soddy-Daisy, McMinn, Bradley, Rhea, Walker Valley, Cleveland. Another possibility, have an all-area team (Bradley, Marion, Meigs, Sequatchie etc schools) and a city team, that would increase the number of schools and probably ensure at least 2 quality senior pitchers would be available on each. There shouldn't be any problem finding players in North Georgia as they go all the way to Cedartown and Cartersville for the rosters, it seems.
