Wonder if CCS will try again this year to run that "fake-kickoff-then-real-kickoff" that we ran back for a TD to open last year's game...

Good to see you back on the boards. :thumb: I woke up this morning, and the first thing my wife said is "It's football Friday." Music to my ears. Will you be there tonight? I think the young Bucs will roll in this one. Go Bucs!

Reaction, I wonder if they're still sour about that 1-0 soccer state championship loss?

Won't be there tonight. My wife's 20th high school reunion is this evening. She graduated from CCS...isn't it ironic...don't you think?

You pretty much got it. Bucs started out slow from what I could tell when I got there. It was already 3-0 CCS. We just seemed to know we were going to win the game, so we just kinda went through the motions early. The Bucs D looked like it should be pretty solid as the season goes along. We did a whole lot better running than we did passing. #24, 29, 2, and 33 all ran the ball well. Seems we have a stable of backs this year. A combination of speed and power. Hopefully we can work the kinks out of this passing game. When the ball did get to a receiver, they would just drop it. We are young, and inexperienced after graduating so much from last season. We have a lot of young potential. #29, and #1 both impressed me tonight to just be a soph, and a freshman. This team will only get better.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
