Dickson Co.'s Defense?

Hmmmm....don't know 'bout that "very well coached" part. I saw the Columbia game and DC should have won. Winning with 3 minutes left, DC calls for a pitch-out and fumbles near the 30 yd line. (Not the best call IMO). THEN instead of calling a time-out and re-grouping, they quickly go back in the game and quickly get SCHOOLED.

Nevertheles, the Brown kid's a playa!

The base defense is a 3-3 stack. It typically looks like a 4-3 though with a stand up end called a "stud" always to to strength. I think Kenwood's athleticism will match up, but everyone dickson has played this year has. Dickson is undersized but they are disciplined and well coached. IMO the "pitch-out" also known as an option...the play where dickson lost possession late in the game...was a legit call. From the games i have seen them play over the last 2 years they typically run the "pitch-out" 5-15 times a game. Its a bread and butter play...kinda like the old 26 and 27 power was in pearson's day. Every play a coach calls comes with some risk. You never know how its going to turn out as a coach. All you can do is prepare for the week. The players have to execute and they will make mistakes. No harm no foul, dropped a non district game they werent even suppose to be close in anyway...moved on to the next week and downed rossview. Its just part of the game. Good luck to both teams tonight...play hard.

So your thinking that Kenwood will be good in the skilled positions like qb, running back, and recievers?

    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
    • Now that wouldn’t surprise me a bit. That has been going on heavily since the days of Larry Kerr @ AC. One of the major reasons CC has never really had much at all, barring about 2 seasons in football. AC milks it dry.
    • Interesting how quite it is. Rumors are going around that Anderson County is being looked at by TSSAA for recruiting violations with the Campbell County transfers.
    • I heard from a member of the teaching staff that there has been a dispute over use of the game field between football, and girls lacrosse team. Girls had a game and wanted to warm up and football coaches did want to leave. The football coaches came down hard with some bad vulgar language and the girls lacrosse backed down. What a classy act BHS athletics has become.
