2070 yards rushing...24 TD's...and right at 685 yards rushing in the last three games vs. at the time the # 1, # 7 and # 7 teams in the state...and he has missed at least 8 quarters of play because we were way ahead at the time !

Mathers would get my vote but comparing these two is like apples and oranges to me. True they are both RB's, but Bryson does so much more for his team.

everyone who has been on coachT knows he only got 72 yards on about 16 carries...

but he had 72 yards on 11 carries in first half...only had 5 touches the 2nd half because he hurt his ankle and was pulled from the game...

 

but why does this matter that he had only 72 vs. smyrna kingj? so he rushed for under 126 in one game out of 10...the mr. football award is for the WHOLE SEASON not for one game! he is averaging over 190 yards per game...685 yards in last three against top 10 teams...and was pulled at half time in at least 3 other games...even chris johnson did not make the 100 yard mark a few times last year...did that keep him from being the best back in the NFL last year...NO IT DID NOT!

 

you keep bringing this up over and over and over...it is not relevant to who wins mr. football...and your boy bryson is good...but this year there is a CLEAR HANDS DOWN WINNER...not even close! and if bryson or anyother back had done what mathers did this year...i would say the same about him!

Seen Bryson and Mathers both play. Mathers is the best highschool running back I have ever seen. Take him away from Blackman and they are below average on offense. The kid dominates games.

Also remember there is not a 6A Mr. Football. Just a AAA Mr. Football where 5A and 6A players are combined. Another stupid thing the TSSAA has done to ruin the sport. It is ok to have 6 state champions, but not award 2 individual students in each class. We have officially found something worse than the BCS, its the TSSAA.
