Chattanoogan Jamal Lackey wins South Carolina state championship

Last night Jamal Lackey won the South Carolina State Championship at 145lbs. for White Knoll High School. He beat an extremely tough kid in the finals from Hillcrest who placed 3rd at the McCallie tournament this year.

 

I wanted to congratulate all the Mighty Warriors on their accomplishments this year at three different state tournaments. There is a long list of fine young men at several different schools that claimed state championships and state medals this year. You cannot begin to imagine how proud I am of all of you.

 

So to my Mighty Warriors at White Knoll HS (SC), Red Bank HS, McCallie, Soddy Daisy HS, Hixson HS, Baylor, Heritage HS (GA), Signal Mountain HS, Notre Dame, and Silverdale Baptist - you are the best of the best and I'm proud of you all for dominating at state once again!!!

Congratulations mr Lackey. i have enjoyed watching you grow in to a tough young man. it seems like yesterday when i watched you and my two triple great grandhildren scrap around in the practice room. way to go bud!
