Siegel won 7-4 in eight innings. Vondohlen started in his first outing this year and threw effectively for 4 2/3. Siegel pitched Schultz (sophomore), Mullendore, Pearson and Coley. Game was tied 2-2 after 7. Gilmore tied it in sixth with a solo homer. Brennan Pearson and two major league plays at third to get out of jams. Fullerton had a pinch hit single in the seventh to score two.

 

Siegel now needs to win one at Riverdale to clinch the regular season title.

Huge win for Siegel. Congrats. Riverdale beat Lavergne tonight 10 - 3. Riverdale has to sweep now to win. Should be a fun series to watch. It would really be exciting to play the last game to hoist the trophy!!!

Looks like two days of horrible weather ahead. Maybe a Thursday DH at Riverdale and Friday Finale at Siegel?

 

Funny that the two coaches that got bashed in this thread are playing for the District championship.

The fence is up and is being braced tomorrow so will be ready to go. Don't pay attention to the foot of water on the visitor side, not on purpose, the field just drains that way. Going to be a good series. Looking forward to it.

Riverdale stays alive with a 9-inning, 15-14 win on a 2-out walk-off grand slam by Ronnie Stephens. The game was tied 7-7 after 7, and Siegel got out of a bases loaded 1 out jam in the bottom of the 7th. Siegel scored 7 in the 9th to go up 14-7, but Riverdale answered with 8 in the bottom. Unbelievable.

Has to be one of the most exciting high school games I have attended. Back and forth and lot's of dramatic moments. Everyone got thier $5 worth tonight for sure!! Time to get a little sleep and lace em back up for tomorrow.
