Yes Bud, but we actually passed the ball last night! It was finally time to turn the QB loose! He throwed for around 150yrds. We played good (in spurts) and looked terrible at times. If we ever put a complete game together, we will have a pretty good team. The penalties killed us, although I think some of them were a little touchy/ feely! Overall a win for the Buffs! Yes, Starnes was a beast also, but never gets his name in the paper! He is a very reliable TB, but is tearing it up on defense as well! We got 2 starters back last night that really showed up as well! Lindsey and Duckett! Go Buffs!

Starnes looked pretty good out of the slot position, if we would put in more plays with him at receiver and still get him the ball some, look out. Rhinehart looked alright last night when he threw it, but he never has to so he doesnt have much practice in game situations. Good luck on the rest of the season CG, and go buffs :thumb:

Pretty darn good game from the article in the Sun. Boles must have torn up the field with 350+ yards. Looks like penalties must have killed the Buffs, they will need to get that fixed. Good luck to your Panthers veerman. They must have improved some since the jamboree.

I just read that as well Bud, what an amazing game for Boles and the offensive line!

Boles has the opportunity to have a season for the ages. It's amazing how hard he works and it has paid off. It also helps that he has one of the strongest lines in front of him. They need to get some of the recognition too and I like how Boles mentioned that in the interview.

Yes I agree Whitehead, kesteson,Carter,Cutshall don't get near the credit they deserve because if it wasn't for them Boles wouldn't get nothing

I don't know if nothing is the word to use. Give Boles some credit. The line didn't get him all 60 to 80 yards on some of his touchdown carries. But I agree, his line does need some credit.

Nice job to the buffs Friday. You guys played well. CG had some opportunities but didn't capitalize. Take away some of those big plays and it's a different game I think. You guys have a good team and Boles is a great back and I'm very glad that guy is a senior!!! CG has a much needed week off before they go to Chuckey on the 30th. Best of luck to the Buffs the rest of the way. :thumb:

Very good sportsmanship Veerman! That's the way everyone on here should be! You guys have a good future as well! Very good talent but young! Best of luck to you guys! When you get your starting QB back it will turn your season around. Looks like to me the backup isn't too shabby!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
