lawnman
I'd say you're right lawnman. We are expecting a very tough game. If it is a high scoring affair, your kicker may do us in. She is pretty good at extra points but field goals are a different story. She is pretty though,so maybe we should let her on the field more often. crawdad this game should be a barn burner and the team with the least mistakes win's. orange and black
She is pretty good at extra points but field goals are a different story. She is pretty though,so maybe we should let her on the field more often. crawdad this game should be a barn burner and the team with the least mistakes win's. Last I heard she was injured with a pulled groin! So may have a freshman kicker this week unless she is better!Im telling everyone dont put much stock in the North game it was a fluke, the stars aligned for North and they took advantage of it. But remember AE beat Alcoa to. We will see North again about Nov.! South will be tough no matter how bad they are suppose to be. When I played they sucked and it was always a hard hitting, tough game. They take Rebel pride just like we take Cyclone pride.
compusatman
The Black Devil Train is well overdue. Mind your children and button up your wrappings for the Dark Hour is upon you. The witching bird will perch and cast it's shadow of wretchedness over it's most beguiled victim. But a shadow it will cast...and the darkness it will implore...for it has been said...of the Stately Bire of Yore...Victory I Implore...Quoth the Raven...Evermore. Welcome back Comp, I hope you will be back to posting. Would love to see you in Betsy tonight if you can make it out. The Spin Doctor's dad might be the necessary good luck charm for the Rebels to take this one.
crawdad
30th meeting for these teams in a series that started with the opening of Sullivan South in 1980. After a 2 year cancellation, the series renews tonight with Elizabethton holding a narrow 15-14 advantage. Tonight is the time for the Rebels to even the score. formerblazer
I want details but I'll eat crow on this one GLADLY! I thought Elizabethton would be raring and fighting to whoop it up on South, but I just fell for the trap that Boone has fallen for year after year after year. If you overlook South, they will remind you how good they really are. Big congrats to the players and to Coach Haynie...I am thoroughly impressed and am ready to go ahead and take back what I said, Boone isn't dominating, they are going to have a fist fight with either TN High or South for the top 5A team....hats off to those rebels they did something I did not think would happen tonight. lawnman
I like the fact that shawn went for the two point conversion but i thought he should have ran a different play because they knew turner was going to run the football in that formation. Good game to watch and a heartbreaking game for betsy to lose and man is turner fun to watch and he is one of the best running backs the cyclones have had in awhile.Still alot of football to play this year and the cyclones will be fine. Keep fighting boys were behind you 100% and good luck to south the rest of the year.
crawdad
Great ballgame in Elizabethton tonight. I loved the Cyclone walk and the way the EHS band comes into the stadium. Coach Witten is getting Cyclone football back where it needs to be. Berry is a big time QB. And that stable of WRs along with scatback Turner gives them a lot of diversity in their offense. Alcoa looks vulnerable, so a Betsy - North rematch could have opportunity written all over it. Good luck to the Cyclones going forward. For the second week in a row, the Rebels come back from a deficit of more than one TD. Both times they answer immediately with a buzz bomb from #10 to #25. Awesome effort from a lot of Rebels to win for the 3rd week in a row without our starting QB. Rebels never quit. REBEL NATION

REBEL NATION You know I've heard a lot of talk about teams being "down" this year, but man oh man we've had some exciting football games already this season. We may not see a state title, but we sure are entertained every week by teams from our area bud.
Tab
What was South doing at the end of the first half? They had 2 timeouts I think and never used them? Could have had another shot at the endzone or got closer for a FG instead of running out of time. The 4th and 16 was the play of the game.
