devilfan1422
They tried to make their non-conference schedule alot tougher by scheduling Cherokee and Oneida this year. They may not have the toughest schedule out there but regardless, 2200 yards and 10 ypc is a great year for anyone. Im not saying anybody from greeneville does deserve it but just because you can run over middle school teams and get one long run against Greeneville doesnt make a good running back
gcfball
I think you have to play hard teams in order to be eligible for the Mr Football Award aka Dalton Boles Read the very 1st post of this topic. Then, if you would like to nominate someone, then great-nominate them. But, don't come on here and say someone doesn't deserve it. WG has played one team in non-conference who has a losing record and Boles only had 11 carries in that game. He has more rushing yards than most TEAMS in his conference, 1st in conference in rushing, TD's, and a close 2nd in yards per carry behind only Shuffler, who is a stud RB himself. He DOES deserve a nomination. He has been held under 200 yards twice. Once against 5A Cherokee, who he had a mere 193 against and against a great Greeneville team which he had 120 on 19 carries. By the way, I think that is the most rushing yards Greeneville has given to any individual this year (dont know that for a fact though). That should count for something. gcfball
Im not saying anybody from greeneville does deserve it but just because you can run over middle school teams and get one long run against Greeneville doesnt make a good running back Yeah, but even those 7-time state CHAMPS Alcoa that you talked about had a running back with "one long run" vs your boys. As far as their schedule: 5A Cherokee, Onieda (a top 3 single A school for years, NG who they have played every year since NG has had a team because they are in county, and Unaka- only "easy" game that they could have not scheduled. There is no doubt Greenevilles schedule is 10x better, but their program is good enough to schedule those teams and they have to schedule those teams or their 1st string would never play in the 2nd half all season. GREENEVILLE IS ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT LEVEL THAN ANY COUNTY SCHOOL. BUT, can you not give a kid some credit for 2250 yards and 25 TD's in 9 games?
Reelfoot72
Kid is good, but he doesn't have the stats Yeah your right, he just had 315 all-purpose yards against the number 3 team in the state. Your a real football genuis!!!!
GvilleDevilsFan
I'm probably going to regret this but Dalton Boles for West Greene has almost 2000 yds gong into tonight's game...Probably the most valuable player to his team in East Tennessee. I think some of the recent posts illustrate why you made that statement.

LHS2012
Kerry Sellers, QB from Lexington. Stats: Rushing Yards- 1,060 Carries- 80 Ypc. 13 Rushing TD- 17 Passing Yards- 300 Attempts- 17 Passing TD- 4 96 Yard Pick 6. Sellers splits his carries with 6 different backs and due to blowouts has played all 4 quarters of only 2 games this year. Lexington hardly ever passes, but when they do He almost always delivers. He's the go to playmaker for the #2 ranked team in the 4A state. Lexington has had one game under 35 points which was the very first game of the season and Sellers was unable to play in that game. The impact he has on the Lexington Offense cannot be put into words. Great Candidate.
UofWM
Trey Phipps - QB - for Obion County, He has close to 2000 yds passing with 26 tds and only 4 ints through 8 games. Pretty good considering he has hardly played the second half in any ball game this year. And also he has lead Obion County to their best start in school history (7-1) and the highest state ranking ever for the program (#3).... snhsfan
Cory Rowe from Sullivan North High School in Kingsport, Tn.. He is a junior quarterback and has led the raiders to their first 9-0 start ever. He leds the team in all statistics, and will probably be the player of the year in the 3rivers conf.
