i'd love to see that game too! being that milan is 3A and covington is 4A. WHAT A BONEHEAD! at least the players from covington know something about football because their fans sure don't. but i guess when you only have a winning season every 4 or 5 years then the stupid kind of explains itself. :roflol::roflol:

Awe you gave it away too fast!!! I was gonna get us some good $$$$ for a coaching staff as good as theirs!!!!! Apparently, according to the softball fan, ours isn't very good..... :roflol: :roflol:

Spellcheck guy, BulldawgGirl03 just demonstrated she knows much more about football than you. Also to dispute your claim about coaching. Your coach was at Ripley and they had more talent and size than anyone in the district at the time. Saw it for myself at several events.Huge team. Many looked like grown men. Ripley won very few games and the 2 or 3 games they did win were guaranteed wins against the weakest teams they could find to schedule, notorious for that type of scheduling. Covington was less than .500 at the time but still beating Ripley while he was there. Then when he went to Covington, who do you think then beat Covington. Yes you're right Ripley. When he was @ Ripley Covington won, then when he goes to Covington who then won, You're right, Ripley. The common denominator of the losing team was your coach.Am i lying? They replaced the previous coach with someone the previous coach was beating. Bobien beat Ripley, replaced him with the coach he quite easily beat, then lose to Ripley. explain. Covington will however beat Ripley next week and by at least 28. Covington's wins this year are attributed to the district being undeniably weak, the weakest it's ever been. As i've said before as well, Milan is not nearly as good as they typically are. W. Tennessee football as a whole is down this year.. However year in year out Milan wins with less. Covington has more students, more size, more speed, more athletes. Milan only has more wins...

You know I don't understand why people have said on here that Covington was so big up front. Have you seen the size of there o- line there guards are four foot tall! No offense to them. Only big one was the center. Milan's lines on both sides of the ball were huge compared to Covington. In regards to the comments made about the coatchings staffs: Milan's staff is good and so is Covington's. The reason the HC for Covington had no success at Ripley was bc the attitude of the players at the end of the day. You either want it or you don't and Covington's players have huge hearts bc those guys are extremely small and fought the big boys from Milan all night long. And as to Covington's HC reaction to the call at the end he did the right thing.

First, let me start by saying, I never dissed the coaching ability of Covington's HC. He and his staff may very well be awesome. But let's graduate some players and see if they can come back with another winning season....because THAT determines a good HC and coaching staff! And THAT is something Milan proves year in and year out!

As for their HCs reactions, in no way, at no time is getting an unsportmanlike penalty from a coach acceptable. END OF STORY!!!! Like I said in a previous post, I have NEVER seen Milan's police department have to get involved in a game because of the other teams coaches. He may have been standing up for his kids, but that was the WRONG way to do it. He pulled focus to himself, not the kids or the game, and yes I STILL say he got a break because he should have been escorted off the field! doesn't mean he's a bad guy....he just use poor judgement in that instance.

Now for Covington, it's time to move on and stop dwelling. We will see you next year, week 8, in Covington for a rematch. I hope it's as good of a game as this one was! Good luck in the playoffs!

No body is dwelling on this I'm from alcoa

Maybe you are one of the Covington staff & also coached at Ripley and from West Tn. You are who we thought you are, to quote Dennis Green. However take nothing away from the Covington kids , doing well & expected them to win.

You're wrong - Milan won the game. Why the single official threw his hands up who knows. But even the people (including non-Bulldog fans) saw the kids knee down at the 2 yard line. Both radio and newspaper personnel confirmed he was down. Maybe the side judge was blocked off the view, I don't know. But Milan played well enough to win and did walk off with the W.

Covington will do well in the playoffs as will Milan. Will either win in Cookeville? Probably not unless both can be more complete teams.

Well, how can an official at the OTHER end of the endzone (as you would say) view blocked, did he see it? NO! The "lone" official even told the other official that he was in the end zone-meaning-the ruling should have stood with Covington scoring. By the way-a photographer has a picture of THAT play-that official who over ruled the other-better start sweating bullets-Pix MAY wind up in TSSAA hands-GO CHARGERS!!!!!!!!

Marty Wheeler has instilled respect, honor and YES, sportmanship qualities in those fine young men from Covington. As a coach, he sets an example for these young men-SO, when the officials could NOT decide how to call THAT play, Coach Wheeler WAS NOT GOING to lay down and take it-what is that teaching those young men to do-if you know something is WRONG, keep your mouth shut and do not question it? The coaches, players, and fans witnessed something VERY WRONG-an official OVER RIDING another officials call. If I had been in his shoes-I would have done to exact same thing. It has NOTHING to do with Milan-BUT-EVERYTHING to do with the officating. "It's time to move on and stop dwelling." I will dwell ALL I want to and you want to talk UNSPORTMANSHIP-when the Center from Covington was on the ground, Covington was saying, "Walt, get up-you can do it!" Over and over again until he got up, what was SOME of your fans doing-laughing and snickering-so,remember, BullDawgGirl03, watch your judgements-when you point your finger and judge-you have 3 pointing back at you! GO CHARGERS!!!!!

Child please.......

ACTUALLY...if you want to know how things work in football....when two officials have a difference of opinion on the call, all officials meet and DISCUSS what they actually saw and how they saw the play play out. Then, the referee makes the appropriate call. Coach Wheeler had EVERY right to pull the ref to the side and discuss the call. But at NO time is it ever acceptable for him to walk nearly 20 yards down field, and out PAST the hash mark to yell and throw a fit at an official. I am disturbed at the fact some of you Covington fans think that these actions are acceptable! It must be because the only ones posting are the little high school kids who obviously don't know how to show respect....we learned Friday that that is something not taught in Covington schools.

And I can assure you that none of our fans were laughing or snickering at the sight of a hurt child!

A hurt child! That was NOT a child-BUT-a fine young man, who has more than once this season, gotten up and brushed his injury off to be there for his team mates and it takes a TRUE man to do that-that is what separates boys from men and men from heroes! I do know how things work in football-the official who was right in clear view of the play called it correctly, BUT- the one who COULD NOT see it OVER RULED him. I know this for a fact-when the two officials discussed it-the one who called it told the other one-that the play WAS good-BECAUSE he SAW it. That's ALRIGHT-Covington HAS nothing to be ashamed of and we will continue to be STRONG! As for your judgement towards Covington Schools not teaching respect-how respectable are YOU for thinking that? If that's what YOU consider repect-I want NO part of it!!!!
