Looks good but EHS could easily take the top spot the rest is up for grabs. And as far as Dugger a diiference maker don't believe that one at all. Good fundamentals coach but makes absolutely NO game adjustments. That showed last night in HOF game vs THS and I saw it ALOT last year. The Bowers kid is something special and fun to watch on both ends of the floor had 18 last night the lone bright spot. Time will tell but glad to see its bball time.

Sounds like EHS has gotten off to a slow start, but I expect they will compete for the top spot in the TRC before it's over. That's somewhat understandable. They don't have any returning starters and only 1 senior (which is currently sidelined with a knee injury). I think it will take some time for the line-up to work itself out and the team to establish an identity. I understand if you're not a Dugger fan, but to make a statement like "makes NO game adjustments" is a joke. Like him or not, he's one of the best coaches (boys or girls) in East TN. I'm not sure what you mean by you "saw it ALOT last year." No adjustments were necessary in most games as the outcome was largely decided by half-time. Regardless, Coach Dugger is perfectly capable of making the necessary adjustments during a game.

Although I think Laiken is good basketball player, division 1 is a big stretch. I can see her playing at ANY NAIA school and SOME D2's. Laiken will get more touches this year and average more points per game.

I don't know where Laiken will end up signing but she is being recruited by multiple D1 schools. I have received phone calls from 4 D1 college coaches regarding her.

That "coach" you are talking about has completely turned around a basketball program that won 0 games the year before he came. Back-to-back state appearances and an ot loss in the finals last year. How about you let him coach and you just stick with typing on your computer.

My statement wasn't meant as an attack on North Greene's coach. He is well liked and North Greene has been very successful lately. I seriously doubt my opinion will affect his coaching so I'll stick to typing on my computer LOL. Just like you said- Laiken will most likely get more touches. My point exactly- getting everyone involved.

"Morrow may be better than I think". I said she was pretty good. I mainly based my statement on reputation and what I saw in last year's state tournament. Based on what I saw last year, she was not a D1 player. Granted, Britton and McNeese took the majority of the shots and it did not look like they tried to feed her inside much. I am sure she will continue to improve and will become a bigger part of the offense. With hard work, she may get a D1 deal.

Laiken has the tools to play D1, but from what I have seen from her she lacks the motivation. If she begins to work harder than she has in the past and wants to become a better player, then yes maybe D1. I hope she does go D1, I love seeing Greene County players play at the next level and D1 would be great. I also know that playing in the state tournament 2 years has helped her stock. Obviously you are her AAU coach or parent, I would say AAU coach. Good luck in helping her get a college scholarship.

Laiken getting more touches doesn't "get everyone involved", it gets her involved. Not convinced that is "what you meant". I just love how everyone seems to know more than the coach, or in your case, the "high school" coach.

there are always adjustments to be made in any game and yes when u play weak teams u dont need to make many but when its the same old stuff over n over n over i mean come on! and did u not see the CAK game or the state play off game? anyway ehs will be fine im sure and since your name hints your from eliz im sure you've drank your fair share of the dugger kool aid.

Lets face it Elizabethton has had a wealth of talent the past few years. Three very good coaches a Mike Wilson, Larry Weems and Lynn Dugger. They have had a good feeder program and some VERY timely transfers. It only takes a player or two to make a good coach better. Dugger is old school in that they make sure that what they do well, they do well! Not many adjustments necessary if you have superior talent and you are good at what you do. True test is if you can stand the test of time with your own players!

Fair enough. They (North Greene) looked good in their second game yesterday.

I'm in favor of always getting the post involved, whether it involves her scoring or setting up an open three by kicking it back out. I don't know North Greene's coach's name or I would call him by name. Lastly, I don't know more than he does about his team than he does as he is the one that sees them practice every day.

Hey take your Laken NG lovefest to your own thread; this is a 3 Rivers thread!!

Just Kiddin.

NG played two games saturday-----was the EHS game first; then Boone? Is Boone that much improved or was NG tired from the close game with betsy.

Elizabethton was the second game. They (North Greene) were up 8 on Elizabethton to start the 4th and opened the quarter stalling and ran about 3 minutes off before being fouled. The Elizabethton press got them back in it and they had a short jumper at the buzzer that missed. Elizabethton still has 6-7 really good players- they'll be fine.

I came in with 4 minutes left in the Boone game and they were up about 10. Snyder, from Volunteer is a nice addition for them. They seemed to be shooting it well the last 4 minutes.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
