District 11 AAA

The board has been quiet. The Rebels have not come out of the gates as expected. Their hitting has been inconsistent/poor and the defense has made way too many errors. It's obvious that they were not prepared to play when the season started. The line up is still not set yet. Last night the bats looked good but they faced a freshman pitcher.

 

The good news for Franklin is that their pitching has been good and the bats should continue to improve throughout the season. It just may be too late for them to be in contention for the regular season district title. They won't stand a chance if the defense continues to make errors.

 

The battle right now is between Indy, Centennial, and Brentwood. Indy looked good the first week.

It wasn't the pitching that franklin beat, it was the defense. Ravenwood had a sloppy defensive series making about 20 errors over 3 games. The hits were about even for both teams throughout the series.

As I understand it, Franklin swept Hillsboro, CHS and IHS have split the series so far, and BHS won the first game against RHS but the paper didn't list last night's game. Anybody want to share who won it?

Big series for the rebels this week as they host brentwood monday and wednesday night. Franklin with alot of confidence after run ruling columbia and oakland this weekend.

Ravenwood takes game 1 from indy. Pitching and defense shaped up and got them the W.

Franklin beat Brentwood 6-2 tonight. Franklin looking very good after getting off to a slow start early in the year. Should be interesting to see what happens in the rest of the series as the next two games are huge for both teams. So assuming Centennial beat Hilsboro, here are the current district standings:

Ravenwood plays good defense through the first 2 games and they win. Defense let up the third game and got them the loss. They just shut down a good clarksville team yesterday winning 1-0.

What are the standings heading into this week's play and besides FHS/CHS, what's the schedule? Thanks.

Here are the scenarios entering the last week of district play (these are assuming Indy does not sweep Brentwood, which is highly unlikely):

- BHS has locked up the #1 seed and automatic berth in regionals

- The winner of the FHS/CHS will be the 2 seed, with the loser being the 3 seed as long as FHS is not swept

- If FHS is swept, and Indy takes at least one from BHS, Indy will be the 3 seed

- If both FHS and Indy are swept, there will be a 3-way tie for 3rd between RHS, and FHS, and Indy, and I'm not sure how that will be handled

- If FHS is not swept and Indy is swept, RHS will be the 4 seed and Indy will be the 5 sees.

- Unless one of the two situations above occurs, RHS will be the 5 seed

- HHS will be the 6 seed, in any circumstance
