Region I AA teams seem to be evenly matched? Does anyone know anything about region II?

Based on what I have seen, these are the R2 match-ups:

Knox Fulton (D3 #1) vs. Alcoa (D4 #4)

Pigeon Forge (D3 #2) vs. Kingston (D4 #3)

Gatlinburg-Pittman (D3 #3) vs. Stone Memorial (D4 #2)

Austin-East (D3 #4) vs. Loudon (D4 #1)

Based on records and head-to-head in D3, Knox Fulton appears to be a notch above the rest while PF and GP look pretty even with AE a distant 4th. Fulton was very good last year (played substate at Betsy) and had their key player(s) returning this year I believe. In D4, it appears Loudon is a notch above the others with the remaining 3 looking to be pretty even. I saw both PF and Alcoa play one game each early this season. Beyond that I don't know anything about the others. However, I predict that Knox Fulton will emerge as R2-AA champion. Loudon's record is impressive and it appears they have beaten some pretty good teams, but the loss to Alcoa throws up a bit of a red flag. Consequently, I'm gonna predict an all D3-AA regional final with Knox Fulton playing and defeating PF.

I would not count out South Greene. They are very athletic and if they have a good game from Cutshaw. They are a good team this time of the year and a tough matchup. Greeneville has already beat Elizabethton once this year.

District 1 is in flames! Congratulations to District 2. South Greene beat Unicoi County by 11. Greeneville beat Elizabethton by 2. Grainger apparently struggled, but beat Happy Valley by 7. No score on Chuckey-Doak and Sullivan East, but the Lady Knights could have completed the sweep. See you next year.

Grainger has been playing without their best player (Johnson). Not sure if she played last night or not, but the score surprises me even if she did not play.

LJ did play lastnight for Grainger but only scored 1 pt. She looked out of sync as did the team. Allison Hodge pulled up the slack. Give LJ a few more days she will get her legs under her. Happy Valley hit some unbelievable shots. Usually after a poor purformance they will roar back.

Hodge has been outstanding lately. Good luck!

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
