Congratulations to Team 147 - Athletes 4 Orphans

Congratulations to Team 147-Athletes 4 Orphans in finishing in the final 12 teams in the Div. I 2012 AAU 7th Grade National Championships this past week in Memphis. This was 147's first trip to AAU nationals after finishing first and second the last 2 years at YBOA nationals.

 

147 had a record of 5-3 at nationals, won their pool and in doing so had wins over the Michigan (Brothers Keepers) and N.C. (Team Felton) state champions. Team Felton ended up finishing 6th overall. 2 of 147's losses came to overall 4th place Team Takeover from D.C. and overall 9th place Indy Hoosiers (2 time defending champ and overall #1 seed coming into the tournament). As I understand the way AAU does the bracketing, 147 will be credited with finishing tied for 15th. Great job!

 

It was a great experience for the team, coaches and families. Memphis did a great job hosting and 147 got to play and see some incredibly talented players and teams. 147 will be able to build off of this great experience.
