Why call it week 0?

Why does the T$$AA call this week week 0? If there websit eis correct only 44 teams across the state didn't play this weekend. Call it week 1 give all teams 11 weeks to play 10 games and start the season next week like it should. That way the championships will be the first full weekend in December like they should be. Or even move it back one more week and have them the second week of December. It dont interfere with basketball no more in this state then it does any other state.

Because next Friday is the official first week required of all teams to play ball. Some play week 0 to get thier schedule right and they have a bye week in the season.
