Bradley @ Baylor

Tough game for this week. Bradley going against last year's runner up, their division, and a consistantly good team. We will get a good read on where the Bears are for this season. And probably a good test for Baylor as well.

Both teams coming off good outings, with Bradley probably having a bit tougher opening, but the secondary was not tested anywhere near what Baylor will bring to the table.

It should be a great game. I am glad to see good non-district teams play each other. No matter how it comes out both teams should get better from playing each other. If it is anything like last year, the teams whose defenses slow down the opposing offenses a few series probably will be the winner. Last year was a shoot out.

It's obvious Bradley has some weak spots. Not many teams haven't. Can't just go out and beef up the lineup from out of state or country. So that obviously can be a disadvantage for a Soddy or Bradley. Baylor should be considered the favorite in this one. I just don't think it will be as wide a margin as last year. Champ99, can u really judge from the polk game? Those Benton boys play as hard as any team around. Depth really hurt them. They can go toe to toe with any team around for the first half.. Baylor had a relatively easy time with Soddy who's having a couple down years due to SM being built. Bradley had the same when Walker was built. I'm going to say this will be a good exciting game to watch.

Having seen Baylor, I'll take Bradley. If there going to get them it will be this year. Not the strongest Baylor team I've seen in the last few years.

Congratulations to Baylor for a solid win. Good team there. Defense really showed a lot of mettle.

Bradley never really got on track, and made way too many mistakes to be a real threat in this game; some of their own making, some because of good play by Baylor.

Coach Floyd will have lot's of film study to get things corrected.

Teams with speed will give Bradley trouble this year they can't match up with them and it looks like a little of the 90s is creeping back in that spells trouble for the Bears. Polk has almost no speed and the rest of the good teams Bradley has scheduled are loaded with speed. Bradley needs to find a huge fullback and control the clock. Copeland is good but can't do it by his self teams are going to load up and come right after him. Bradley's line is more suited for smash mouth but they need a different scheme. Part of good coaching is adjusting to what you have or don't have.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
