CoachT
Who do you suggest I put on the ballot? I can recommend three linemen in Class A. Negative comments do not work in this thread. This is the time to tell us who IS deserving, not who is not. This thread is for linemen only. TSSAA Press Release: For the sixth consecutive year, the Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Awards are being underwritten by a generous grant from the Tennessee Titans Foundation. The TSSAA is very appreciative of the generosity of team owner Bud Adams for his financial support of these awards and to the Titans organization for its wide-ranging support of student-athletes across our state. Thirty-three finalists will again be honored at this year’s awards luncheon. This group is to include three finalists for Mr. Football Lineman of the Year and three finalists for Mr. Football Back of the Year in each classification (Class A, AA, and AAA in Division I and Class A and AA in Division II). There will be three finalists, regardless of classification, for the Mr. Football Kicker of the Year award. They are to be selected via a vote of football coaches and selected members of the media. The winners of the coveted award are to receive the distinguished Mr. Football trophy with the other finalists being presented plaques. These outstanding individuals and their schools are to be recognized along with their parents and coaches at the prestigious Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Luncheon, scheduled Monday, November 26 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Center in Murfreesboro. Each coach is asked to submit the name of up to three players in each classification for the Mr. Football Lineman of the Year Award and the Mr. Football Back of the Year Award. You are also asked to submit three players, regardless of classification, for the Mr. Football Kicker of the Year award. These votes are a nominating process only. A selection committee will meet to choose Mr. Football Lineman, Back, and Kicker of the Year. It is not necessary to vote for three players in each category, but that is your option. If you feel an individual player is one of the top three players in both categories, then you may list him in both. You may not vote for players on your own team! In order to insure the integrity of the award, we need the vote of each high school head football coach in Tennessee, and that includes you. Please take some time, discuss this with your staff and return it to us immediately. In order for your ballot to be counted, it must be received in our office via mail or fax (1-615-889-0544) no later than FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26. Please help honor Tennessee’s finest by responding today. football78
Brandon Bourk Hendersonville High School Defensive Tackle "Bourk is a physical and high motor player that has excellent strength and the smarts to control the line of scrimmage. He lines up at DT where he has the frame to gain the weight to compete on the Division 1 level. Bourk plays with good leverage and does a good job of using his strength and quick hands to get around offensive lineman. His motor is all go. He plays to the last whistle. Bourk is a worthy player deserving a look. D1 sleeper." *Comments by SPS Rec. Analyst Chris Smith*
ClarksvilleBudo
Bruno Reagan. Clarksville High School. 6'4 285lb http://www.hudl.com/athlete/376579/highlights/21627375 "Reagan is a little known recruit at this time that should burst onto the scene during the upcoming summer camp circuit. He is a big (6'4 286lbs) strong and powerful lineman who could excel on either side of the ball. Reagan is an aggressive ball player that can line up at DT and make a serious push into the offensive backfield. He could as be a great interior off. lineman who can get off the ball quick and push his defender off the line. Definite sleeper D1 prospect." Chris Smith - SouthernPrepStars Rec. Check out his highlights and profile http://www.hudl.com/...#austin-barrett " I also really like Austin Barrett out of Murfreesboro (TN) Oakland. Saw him scrimmage earlier this spring. Kid is athletic and disruptive. He's about 6-2 so not a massive body but he's a football player. He's a guy that I like in-state. He's definitely a BCS level prospect and could be an SEC guy. He's definitely a guy to watch." Barton Simmons National Recruiting Analyst Expert Area: SEC, ACC, West Coast, National
