Top Players in east Tennessee?

Your right, i haven't seen him play yet and i may be wrong on the comparison between him and Sibley, but you guys have to realize he is just a JR. At this point next year if he isn't as good as Schmidt right now he will be at this time next year, in my opinion. A lot of improvement can be made from your JR to SR year. And Jaylin is only a JR, too. Sibley will eventually receive a D1 offer. Again, he is only a JR lol

Maybe I missed something but the topic is "Top Players in East Tennessee". I assumed this meant currently not next year. I only mentioned an OR player as someone that might offer some insight as he played in the same summer program.

. Guess maybe Tony should learn to play checkers, instead of playing chess! LOL!!!!!

T Jones did beat Stone 2 times last year, 1 night @stone isnt gonna change him..

Rowan is a stud, but all around player you got to go with Smidt, he passes the ball as good as he scores that ball, rebounds well and handles the rock with ease.

SS: Did u not get to see Devins brother Rande play..his stroke was better..

Yep they did beat Stone 2 times last year. Stone also beat them 2 times (including region finals), but Tony was the one doling all of the talking. And I don't expect anything to change Tony, its just funny to see a coach try to play the big wig card, and keep getting it shoved back down his throat.....

BTW I don't think Rowan is the best player in East TN, and I would take Schmidt over him because he is a bigger stronger player, rebounds and defends multiple positions, and is a great passer. But I haven't seen a better all around shooter than Rowan in several years. Rowan has worked hard to improve his overall game, is playing at a very high level, and he deserves to be listed among the top handful of players in East TN.

I don't understand how you can make a statement like this without seeing Schmidt play. I have seen both play and I can tell you without a doubt that Schmidt is the best in East Tennessee. If you have any doubt ask one of your own - Jalen Henderson. Henderson was part of the same AAU organization this summer - The TN Chosen Few. Or better yet, just ask your coach, he watched him put up 30 at Maryville this past Monday. In addition, he's played pretty good competition - go check out SC's schedule.

By the way, Carolina Crazy's top 5 is pretty accurate. I would include Stetson Moore somewhere in the top 10.

Yea, ive been chastised a bit for not including the Moore kid. But in my oppinion, and its apparently is just mine, Im not a big fan. He shoots shots way out of his range, and because he might hit 2 out of ten from 30 ft, everyone says WOW! I dont, I say bad shot! It goes in and people shake their heads, I shake my head on every one wheather it goes or not. And before someone comes on here and mentions the range thing, When he shoots from that far out, its a set shot and kind of a heave for him, but when he shoots from the line on in, its a nice jump shot, you know? Probably should include him somewhere on the list I guess. Please dont get me wrong, hes a good player, that I think, with his skill set, could've been a great one. I'm saying that if his dad wasnt the coach and he played for any other team in the district, besides a couple, he would struggle to average 18 ppg, in those systems, I may be wrong, and hes scored alot of points in his career, Not a hater here, just not as big a fan as some. Sorry.

AMEN, SS. I hope Sibley does get that big time offer, but as you know, when you get into your Jr season and the offers arent coming in, it gets harder as it goes along. i heard he visited Stanford, and that may be more on the academics side of it. Thats a testament to this kid and his parents. If he can play at Stanford, theres 4-5 SEC schools he can play for, for sure! Why arent those teams beating his door down? I love his game, but from the first time ive seen him to now, theres something different in his Game, and demeanor. Doesnt look like the BEST player in East Tn, you know? He's an outstanding kid and player and I hope he gets that Duke offer, how cool would that be? Local boy at DUKE!!

Moore is a very good HS ballplayer. Has good shooting range, good ball handling skills, he has basketball smarts, i should say. Helps when your dad is the head coach because that means he has learned all the ins and outs of the game. He has that over most players having that advantage of having a dad as a coach. But, i don't think he will excel at the next level unless he changes his shot, which is possible. But, when he shoots he shoots kinda from his chest, and when he gets to the next level and plays against longer and quicker competition they will be throwing it back in his face constantly. That's unless he can adjust his shot, which isn't an easy thing to do when you have been shooting that way all your life. He also lacks in overall athletic ability (quickness, jumping abiltity etc) Them things can be overcome, just look to Larry Bird lol, but that shot from his chest region will hurt him in the long run.

That's because he is having to do EVERYTHING on that team, CC. Last year he had a lot of better players surrounding him. He is shouldering a huge load for a JR this year. If he was on a better team like OR or Powell i feel the offers would be there already. Doesn't help that teams in East Tn don't get much exposure. His coach needs to be getting Karns into tournaments like Arby's etc where he will get noticed. Hard to get noticed at freaking Karns lol...Someone will get a steal.

Yea your probably right. i love him though. Still a great player. It doesnt look to me like his SR. year will be much better either in the help department. Really needs to work on his frame tho. Add 15 pounds of muscle, so he can shoulder that load. Hes been frail for a while now and it may get worse if he adds a couple mor inches you know? He'll look like Tayshon Prince, LOL

Personally, i think he has a good build. Boy has very powerful legs. Look at his legs next time you see him play. Guy can jump out of the building, too. If anybody needs some muscle it's Jaylin lol

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
