I remember the rival days of WB and the Owls.....how yal doin on the field?

Those WB/Ooltewah games were awesome. From the early 2000's-2007 those were some of the most hotly-contested and fun to watch games in the state. It's a shame that rivalry had to end with the new districts, but I fear that it wouldn't be much of a rivalry from 2009-present.

Well we could still play each other in a non conference game. Oh and I have to disagree, I think wb would have still given ooltewah fits the past few years (except the most recent one). You gotta realize that wb plays in a tougher district and has lost alot of close games. If we can keep it a game against farragut, west , and lenoir city we could ooltewah a run for their money.

I definitely see your point, Governors91. However, I don't think that it is completely fair to compare LC to Ooltewah. In LC's best season since the late 90's, they still lost at home to Ooltewah by 24 points. The 2011 WB team would have had the best chance to give the Owls a game, but you never knew what you were going to get with them (for example laying an egg and losing to West by 18).

I don't mean to be negative, though, as I think that a new coach will do wonders for WB. I'm really excited about the future and I hope that Ridge has the Govs back in the playoffs soon. I think it won't be long before WB can beat teams like the Owls again.

Yea, The Govs have been woefully inconsistent the past few years. But my point was if the Govs showed up and played the way they were capable of playing they could have given the owls a game. especially the 2011 team. Yes , I also have faith in Ridge.
