Why would you think Cookeville wont have a say in it? They have 2 pitchers with 12+ wins. More quality wins than either of the others. One of the pitchers is already signed D-1 as a pitcher with Winthrop. The other has pitched 8 shut outs as a freshman. There 3-7 batters all have homerun power. Just asking were your opinion comes from.

I agree with both Coffee County and Walker Valley going through.

Coffee County isn't as strong offensively as last year from what I've seen. However, they have two pitchers with the Fury and both will sign to play in the future at the collegiate level. I would think they would ride Jones through the postseason as she was very tough last year during this time knocking off Walker Valley and losing a 1-0 game to Soddy Daisy during the region tournament last year.

Walker Valley has a D1 pitcher that is signed with Austin Peay. They also have a backup sophomore that can be quite difficult to hit. They have recorded 34 homeruns as a team this year, and have one of the most potent offenses, 1 through 9, I've seen from all the tournaments this year. They haven't been quite the same down the back stretch, but have had alot of injuries. According to the other thread those players are returning, so they will be tough to beat.

I think it depends on how Cookeville does in the District Tournament. They may be able to squeak in if they win their district, but I don't think they will advance as a #2 seed traveling to Chattanooga otherwise.

So who has Walker Valley beat this year? The only top notch team I have seen on their schedule was Ravenwood which they lost in extra innings. Im not by any means downgrading Walker Valley when Cookeville hasnt seen them play. But Walker Valley hasnt seen Cookeville either personally I think it would be a Very Good game to see.

There's no doubt in my mind that this region will be more competitive than years past because there is not a clearly dominate team this year, like Soddy Daisy the past four years. I am going off what I have seen. Some of these teams have more quality wins than others, but none of them have ran around playing A/AA cupcakes through the course of the year. Cookeville's schedule is not overbearing with softball powers and part of that has to do with there are a lot of programs that are down. I wouldn't count out Soddy Daisy out of District 5 either, they could make some noise too.

    • Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe….i drove the lawnmower down to practice today…….hmmmm…… we got some new faces………. One can run faster than my lawnmower in fifth gear…… a few will be disappointed come November that they jumped ship and went down to that sewage facility……. You can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • I don't know what's going on in the town of McMinnville, but I've read this and it's disturbing.  I'm a "player" person, and I want what's best for the player. If a player gets cut off the team because she said the "F word" then good grief. I mean, come on guys. I wish there was a way for the player to transfer to a different program and just play ball. There are a lot of athletes that are stuck because they're in crappy situations regarding their team/coach. This is player just happens to be one them.
    • Won't happen. College coaches will back the coach every time and it cost this young lady her senior season. Looks like the player may be right on this one. School let her  go after one season. This stuff happens more than you think.
    • “No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team.” For language? I’m not seeing that as a dealbreaker.
    • Why did the coach get rehired after she was let go as an assistant by the former Warren County coach and the current AD?? Is that accurate?? I am very familiar with situations like this. Suprised lawsuits haven't happend before. If the coach unfairly let the player go, I think she has a shot because it cost her a scholarship. No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team. Not going to happen. There are bad hires like this a bunch and kids are treated unfairly by coaches that can't coach a lick and have super long ropes somehow. Amazing how some of these coaches get hired and keep their job.
