classof82
So Goodpasture Beech and Ootawah aren't good enough for ya?
FightinIllini
FC has the pitching depth, I look to see them in the final game.
mybad
FCS is 0-2 against Goodpasture so that doesn't help prove your point. One of the other teams is barely .500 so you have one team that may help prove your case. Other than that, schedules show you are 0-5 against Riverside at state. If you were going by odds at Las Vegas who do you think Vegas would go for? Then again, this is baseball so anything could happen! classof82
3-2 losing in the last inning, and I would say they are much better than most teams. I guess it's a good thing the games are played on the field and not in Vegas. Win or lose competition in the regular season makes you better would be my point. mybad
My point is, FCS competition during the season isn't as good as they usually think it is. Yes, they may play bigger teams that have good records but teams generally that play single A ball east of Nashville aren't as strong. That is just from experience seeing games at state the past 5 years.
mybad
Did FCS have pitchers improve greatly after last year or have freshman pitchers come in because looking at the schedule last year FCS was 2 and done at state last year? classof82
Pitching wasn't as much of an issue as hitting. It's hard to win when everyone slumps at the same time.
mybad
Very true, but it is also a possiblity that the level of competition was higher when it came to level of pitching and not necessarily a slump in hittin considering FCS pitching gave up 11 runs in the 2nd game last year. That doesn't show depth in pitching to me if the 2nd pitcher gave up that much so unless the pitching got much stronger or they got a stronger rotation that came in Im afraid the same result may be coming this year. We shall see! Scotts Hill and Riverside are headed to state and from the same district so West TN is expecting to make a little racket next week! Other than those teams I am looking at Summertown kind of coming in under the radar and possibly taking it this year. They are the only team to beat Riverside in the chamionship game back in 09. classof82
That slump was going on before the state tournament and there is no one in ther region or district who we shouldn't have been able to hit after some of the people they had seen and hit earlier in they year so I doubt. I also think it's funny how friendship goes 2 and done one year and suddenly they can't throw hit or catch a baseball.
mybad
No one said FCS cant throw, hit, or catch a baseball, you said that on your own. I was commenting on the supposed pitching depth of FCS. oh and you were the one saying they couldnt hit before and during the state tournament. classof82
They started slumping at the end of the season. And to answer your question. Remus and Hawks have added a lot to the rotation this year. Neither one pitched many valuable innings last year. Like I said I'm more worried with the bats than pitching.
Pantherfan66
Friendship should cruise to Friday, the brackets were set up for them. ALL the other good teams are in the oposite bracket.
