Surprisingly Hunters Lane leads the series 17 - 7

 

I look for my Panthers to make up some ground in this series with a victory over the Warriors!!

 

Just hope they spent the week tweaking that defense and snaps!!

I use to play at Hunters Lane, but I'll have to go with Maplewood.

For the past decade, or so, the Warriors have either been a very bad team, or a good enough team to make the playoffs. So a win against Hunters Lane is often a minimum benchmark for how one's season will play out. And seeing how they have been very bad lately, with not resurgence in sight, a loss by Maplewood to Hunters Lane would not bode well for the Panthers. Unfortunately, I had been unable to view either teams performance during the jamborees because I had out-of-town house guests to entertain.  But I hope to be at the game this Friday. Good luck to both teams. I think they'll both need much of it this season.

Buffalo Bowl trophy: The winner of tonight’s Maplewood-Hunters Lane game will be awarded the first Dickerson Road Buffalo Bowl trophy.The Dickerson Road Merchants Association is sponsoring the trophy.There are eight buffalo statues along Dickerson Road, which was built on an old buffalo trail.“(The trophy) was (Maplewood) principal Ron Woodard’s idea,†said Michael Douglas, president of the merchants association. “It keeps the neighborhood united. It keeps something positive going on. The two schools (in northeast Nashville) are less than five miles apart. It’s a pretty good rivalry.†- The Tennessean

Game day is hereee!!! ... not as much hype going into this one as some hoped but all the same big game for both teams being the first game ... looking forward to this one ..both teams play hard be safe and have fun!!!
