East Hamilton vs Rhea

Recommended Posts

Not meant as an insult, Cope...  Just calling like I see it.  No doubt the Eagles are a much improved product over what we've encountered the last few years, but I'm telling you...you guys have not faced this level of competition this year.  Besides the size of the EH OL and DL, I believe there will be a huge struggle to find someone who can contain/catch/stop Herndon.  He's proven in two games this year that he can make the difference all by himself, and so far even his best competitors haven't really had an answer for him.

Again, I'm not poking a stick at Rhea.  I'm just saying they will be out-matched and this one will be decided by halftime.

Maybe I'm wrong....actually hope so!  Just an opinion...and we've all got 'em.

Yeah I understand no insult taken. I'm just hoping the D line can take advantage of a couple slower lineman and keep that passing attack in check.

So you're predicting something like 10 sacks and 20 QB hurries for the Rhea County defense tonight?

I doubt he's predicting that, but if EH drops back as much as film shows, we will get to the qb several times.  Although, not as heavy, I feel like our D line if considerably faster than the EH o line and will get to the qb, Now, having seen EH qb run, he is very capable on the run, so I hope our linebackers are ready.

Really dude? Use your brain that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying continuous pressure on the qb and make him uncomfortable. If you've ever seen a football game you know if the D line is making the pocket a little uncomfortable then that has a big effect on the Q. If we get 2-3 sacks and 5 hurries and make him ansy in the pocket then we've helped out D backs tremendously.

I can say that, although the EH OL/DL are sizeable, they are not immovable.  If you can get consistent push, it will certainly bode well for the Eagles.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Just solid pressure all night. Didn't mean to come off irritated in my first reply to you. I'm just ready to see this game lol

And I'm trying to convey to you, through the use of sarcasm, that Rhea County will not get "continuous" pressure on East Hamilton with their 3-man rush.  You're eventually going to have to cover someone.  "Continuous" pressure on the quarterback is a pipe dream when playing a good team.

Interesting stat: EH has 9 TD passes of 65 yards or more.

Have you even watched film on either team? There are 2 o lineman in particular for EH who are not very good in the least. I know we have to play good coverage, I'm not saying our D backs can just hang out in the secondary and watch the game. Of course they'll have to cover. I'm trying to convey to you in plain English that I think our D line will get to the QB which will offer some assistance to the D backs throughout the game.

If we get 2 to 3 sacks, which is quite possible, what does that do? That maybe 2 to 3 possessions of 3rd and long or a big momentum change. It's possible and it's big if it does happen.

Is EH good? Yeah they are. However, I find it very funny how some of you immediately say there's no way you'll cover the wide outs, or there's no chance of Consistent pressure.

  • There are 4 defensive backs for Rhea County that couldn't cover themselves with a blanket.

  • This isn't Coffee County or White County.  This is 1,950+ yards in the last 6 games.

  • Even if you get 6 sacks, which I think is about what Ooltewah had, you can still get 300+ yards hung up on you, which is exactly what happened to Ooltewah.  Sacks don't change momentum for shameless, gun-slinging offenses.

  • There is no way Rhea County will get continuous pressure on the quarterback AND cover all 5 eligible receivers.

WOW ........and I though PassiveAggressive was overconfident and cocky. The last time these cane fans were posting stuff this arrogant was right before the Ooltewah game.

I wonder "Biscuits" that morning after Ooltewah what did you have for breakfast? Was it Crow or some of Aggressive's Humble Pie??

    • Y’all boys can’t spell discipline. Probably lead the state in personal fouls last year. Being halfway disciplined in 1 game against Smith County in 3rd round doesn’t dismiss the rest of the season. “Shoulda” won the state championship but those mouths got the best of you yet again. Marion already had a lot more retuning than y’all this year. Adding these 2 D1 kids will 100% make a major impact. Marion will stand on business this year. They haven’t forgotten. I’m just keeping it real
    • MC upgraded with 2 studs. If they can’t get it done this year with a generational speed talent in Pickett then I’m not sure they ever will. Huge favorite in the East currently.    Multiple offers from FCS calls for gold.
    • no they will be tough for sure
    • Marion just jumped ER as the favorites in the East. Two big time transfers for y’all kinfolks. Bullseye has been set now. I said it the last two years it is time and both times y’all let me down. Can’t say you’re short on talent this year or that you’re young. Time to put up or shut up. Surely y’all can get over the hump this year. I’m just keeping it real
