The first tiebreaker is not wins over those teams it is teams on the schedule winning 50% of their games.

Sullivan South has 4 teams (Elizabethton, Sullivan North, Tennessee, and Gate City)

Greeneville has 3 teams on their schedule that have won 50% or more of their games (Signal, CD, and Harlan)

Gerry,

If Dekalb Co wins Friday and all the other teams in our quad win also will we remain a #5 seed or possibly move up to a #4. Thx. Also if we did happen to lose could we drop down from a projected #5 seed.

If you win on Friday I believe you will jump up to the 4 seed based on tiebreakers with Sequoyah but you are locked in at the 4-5 game I believe.

Dang. When I was making my best attempt to look at the playoffs I didn't see any scenario ending with us going west. That would be huge. Gerry, assuming we beat Spring Hill to end the season, do you think it's likely we still go west?

I can't figure it out for sure myself one way or the other. Thanks again for your hard work.

I think this is gonna be about right.  Except Mnotgomery central will not bet in and I think Unicoi co wins and gets in.  This will take a team out of Quad 3, unicoi will bump Knox Cath to quad 2 and either Marshall or Giles will be bumped to quad 3.  This is the crazy thing.  If my calculations are correct.  There is no way for Claiborne to get in.  If they beat Grainger, Chucky Doak will get 2nd place in region, and then Grainger will have the 1st tie breaker over Claiborne.  Head to Head means nothing.  Will be bad if a team beats a teamin week 10 to have same record but the losing team get in and winner go home.  BTW who you guys think goes west Marshall or Giles

    • One final thought. Coach Keith claims he was not aware of the player's failing grades. I won't comment on that, just to say this, IF he did not, whose job was it to see that this kid did not play ball at CHS? That person should be looking for a job and they might be, I don't know.
    • They have fired the principal, 2 teachers, at least 1 counsellor and 1 coach so far. I don't see it from my view in Oak Ridge as a coach thing, he  was just implicated in asking 1 teacher to  fix 1 kid's grades.   In our local media(Clinton and Oak Ridge)the principal is who is the originator and pusher of the fraud. The others are peripheral. The coach isn't even the big story, just here on a sports site.  The media view is the principal did it to cause CHS to be seen as excellent by the state. He committed fraud to do that so he might spend a little time in jail IF that is valid.
    • And from coach himself, he wasn’t told he was let go because of the ineligible player.    that’s just what the schools needed to happen to fit their bull
    • Wish it was made clear before a coach gets let go or not retained instead of being sold as the reason he was in trouble. I was told the kids who got grades changed, 97% or better were non athletes but the coach is taking all the heat so the schools can pretend it wasn’t their job to know. heck, what do you think could happen when you hire husband and wife as head principal and head guidance….   that’s not being said though…
    • Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe.  Last time I came up there to watch my pirates one of those guys in that pickup trucks flattened the tires on the lawnmower.  This is payback.  You can bet the lawnmower on that.
