12A District Tournament

I believe the tourney begins Feb 10th at Wayne Co. Summertown & Loretto will have the first round byes(Loretto & Collinwood tied but LHS gets #2 seed since defeated the #1 seed once) Frank Hughes vs Collinwood & Wayne Co vs Perry Co in 1st round. Semis are Summertown vs WCHS/PCHS winner & Loretto vs CHS/FHHS winner. Top 4 advance to Regionals which are also held at Wayne Co. 

 

 

 

Looking ahead to Regionals: Richland is 12-0 in  District 11A but 0-4 vs 12A opponents 

                                               Cornersville is 10-2 in 11A & have yet to play a 12A team

                                               Santa Fe is 8-4 in 11A but 0-2 vs 12A

                                                Culleoka is 6-6 in 11A but 0-1 vs 12A

 

Looking ahead to Sectionals: Community is 11-1 in District 9A but 0-1 vs 12A opponent

                                               Middle Tn Christian is 9-3 in 9A & have yet o play a 12A team

                                               Houston Co is 12-0 in District 10A & 4-0 vs 12A opponents 

                                               Nashville Christian is 10-2 in 10A but 0-2 vs 12A

Predictions?

Mine: Loretto & Summertown advance to District & Region Championship games with LHS on top in both.

Houston Co(at home) over Summertown in sub-state & Loretto over Community in The Barn

There is a chance of about 6 teams that could make it to the state. Houston County and Loretto as mentioned, but also you have Summertown, Collinwood, community, mtcs and Nashville Christian also. Its going to be a tight RACE.

What I meant here, was it's only possible for 2 of these 14 teams to make it to state due to the tournament brackets, all will be eliminated except 2. Could be any 2

I think Cwood and Summertown are still the teams to beat in region 6. Loretto is right on there heels. Hopefully Richland will make some noise in the region. Lost a tough one at Loretto last night and still have Summertown tomorrow night. Should be an exciting couple weeks of Basketball.

Lets be honest. Summertown did not play all of the key players in that game. We all know Richalnd is not 16 points better than Summertown.

The margin was actually 10 points. I'm not sure of the players that didn't play but its a big win for the Richland girls regardless.

I've been following D12 for 10+ years and have never seen it this balanced.  Summertown has to be the favorite but wouldn't be surprised if they ended up at 3 or 4 seed.  Frank Hughes could beat Collinwood and get a trip to regional for the first time in a long while. 

 

I will be there cheering for PC.  I haven't seen many predictions on the district outcome and it is pretty clear why.  Any prediction might look pretty silly when the tournament is over.
