Father Ryan Wins D-II Middle/East Region - 4 champs

CHATTANOOGA -- On the strength of four champions among 13 medalists, Father Ryan won the inaugural TSSAA D-II Middle/East Region wrestling championship here Friday at Baylor School.

 

Ryan led the way with 273.5 points, followed by runner-up McCallie (239) and third place Baylor (238), with Montgomery Bell Academy (194) and Brentwood Academy (135) completing the top five spots in the 12-team field.

 

State Tournament: The top six finishers in each weight class advance to the D-II state tournament, Feb, 14-15 at the Williamson County Ag Center in Franklin. The top three in each weight class from the West Region also advance. Out Bracket Match: West No.3 vs. Middle/East No.6 to fill the eighth spot in the eight man bracket.

 

Ryan champions (4) were Eli King (106), Chris Wesnofske (132) John Hagey (172) and Ben Stacey (220).

 

McCallie and Baylor had the most champions with five each.  

 

McCallie (5) – Ethan Dendy (120), James Westbrooks (126), Adam Connell (138), Griffin Davis (145) and Trel Phillips (195)

Baylor (5) – Michael Murphy (113), Blake Sutherland (152), Bryson Popp (160), Ryan Parker (182) and  Will Thomas (285)

Are these team scores accurate BBB?

The guy does this kind of thing for the paper, they can be sticklers for the details. But it is good to check his facts before you "copy and paste" him.

The team scores were correct. I have noticed a couple of individual scores that were not correct but it is what it shows on trackwrestling. I noticed  the wrong winner in a 5th - 6th place match as well. I will correct them. If anybody see's anything incorrect let me know in case the results are used for any kind of state seeding.
