Tight Ends Blocking or catching?

Here's is some fresh fat to chew. This may be my naivety, but why is it that 7 AAA ball does not utilize the tight end in small screen passes or little drag routes? Seems to me with the size and speed of some of these tight ends 3 and 5 yard screen passes would be magic, but looks like most schools just use them as another blocker. Especially teams that have a tendency to play hard off the edges.I just can't believe that in all of Tennessee we don't have an exceptional catching Tight end.

It's still the 20th century for most TN high schools, however teams from Memphis throw the ball to the TE
