CPA and Giles Co are 1a and 1b in 12-AA. We'll know more on who is a and who is b after they square off at GC on Tuesday. No one else in the the district appears to have much this year.

If anyone has seen both teams play would be interested in thoughts on the game.

Giles is more athletic but CPA more skilled. Should be a very close game. Spring Hill and Cascade would be next two. Marshall and Page are struggling.

GC and cpa was a good game, cpa won by 8. GC's poor lay up shooting early and lack of any early outside shooting, shot them in the foot.  This game can go either way every time they play, imo.  At this level you have to make the easy ones.  Should be a fun year to watch either team. GO CATS!!!

What does GC have to do to pull the upset at CPA Friday night? How do the top two in 12AA stack up vs 11AA when they get to Region?

I for one would not call it an upset if GC wins, they beat cpa twice last year and played them well earlier, but with cpas record and the whole public/private thing I can see where someone would call it an upset.  GC needs to make the open shots they missed the last game and be better prepared at the end of the game if its close.  GC will need more than 1, 3 point shooter and they cant be scared to pull the trigger!

If GC wins Fri night it would be only be a minor upset and not a big surprise. GC and CPA may end up playing 4 times and it's hard to imagine a scenario where GC doesn't win at least one.

Based on a few common opponents and records, it appears GC and CPA are likely the favorites to go 1-2 in Region 6. Upsets will always happen, but on paper those 2 appear to be the ones to beat.

Looking down the road a bit, which is what makes these Boards interesting, MLK is lurking. No team in AA in Middle TN wants to play at MLK to make it to the boro.

It is now set with the top two going into the District. CPA in a close one tonight. Spring Hill a solid 3rd. 4-6 still up for grabs going into last week.

Saw the GC / CPA game. Two well coached and evenly matched teams. GC fell behind double digits in the 3Q but kicked it up a gear to tie it with about 2 minutes to play. GC had a couple of chances to grab the lead and possibly win it but turned it over in transition with about a minute to play and CPA capitalized. Expect a rematch in 12AA District Championship game and another tight game.

Clearly the best two teams!

    • The sandbagging begins… y’all made sure LV won’t be a problem by snagging 2 of their better players.
    • Partin left? I’ll be.
    • And yes, in 2010 Clary/Scott Monger got into it with a R’dale fan. Well, mostly Monger lol. I think the fan took a swing at him. It’s funny as all get out listening to it on the replay. Scott told the guy to sit his a** down. Lol. That wasn’t the only time SM got into it with an opposing team. Seems like he got into it with someone at William Blount one year. He was an OG lol
    • Nope, they knew lol. He was just one tough hombre. Played right up to near the end of the Powell game like that and we almost won. I think they beat us, 21-17. Was a valiant effort on his part though.
    • No, that was in 2010. We played them in the quarterfinals in ‘11 the year I’m talking about, but we got hammered 35-14. 2010 was a fun year though. Played Maryville in the semis and gave them a really tough game for the majority of that game, but their depth eventually wore OR down, 38-21. Bradley had a few awesome runs in that game. He was a stud. Nothing fancy, but like I said, a mini Tebow. Would keep that read option up the middle and pound that tater in there. He was hard to bring down. Probably went for 195 lbs, if that.
