Tying run was walked in. Burleson drove in the go ahead run with a single into left center.

Actually I am wrong too. In the 6th inning the 5th run was walked in. We left bases loaded. In the 7th inning Beard lead off with a ground rule double. He scored to tie it on a hit by Scott. Scott then scored on a hit from Burleson.

Great game! Great Venue. Great win for eagles! Mustangs came out like gang busters!!

Landrum has a lot more than that in the tank though! Think the moment got to him just a bit. Anyway 3 game series so lots more to go!

Good Luck Eagles!!

You can't blame Landrun for all that  happened in the first inning.  I think there were 3 unearned runs.   Besides the Summertown runner being thrown out in the first inning trying to score on an infield ground ball.  This let the air out of the balloon early.  But this was a great "TEAM" effort and every player on the team made contributions  to this great comeback win.

No one blamed Landrum for everything that happened, and that "runner" who was thrown out at home is probably the fastest ball player you will see in Single A baseball. He simply did what his coach told him to do. You're telling one person not to blame a ball game on one player but you're blaming all the air being let out of the ballon on that runner. Lol

Summertown had, to say the least a tough week! 6 games in 6 days is quite a task no matter who you play. 3 games in the freezing cold, not to mention the rain. We still made it to the championship game in the Middle Tennessee Invitational! While we didn't win, I think our team may have grown and gotten tougher. We struggled at every phase of that game, Our pitching was weak in the final game, our defense was sluggish and sloppy (shout out to Luke Scott for center field play Saturday). Our struggle was with ourselves more than our opposition. The team scored 5 runs.....every one was unearned. To me that spells fatigue.

Summertown has now lost 2 games this season by a combined total of 2 points. 111 - 39 is the scoring differential. Strong statement Eagle Fans!

Continue to support our young men!!

No one is blaming the runner, just saying what contributed to the six run Loretto inning. However, this quote has provided you to get in some bragging someplace oher than facebook. Just remember this is a team, not a one man show.

I have no affiliation with the runner. So I don't know who you are talking about bragging. And no you were blaming one person. We can both agree that the whole first inning was team based. & you're right it's not a one man show but you also can't blame it on one person like the runner.

The Eagles have been playing awesome baseball AS A TEAM.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
