Linden and Collinwood were tied up 3-3 going to the top of the fifth yesterday until the skies opened up and it came a huge downpour. Supposed to have that game resume on Thursday in Linden and have the second game right after. The only way they won't play at Collinwood is if either Linden or Collinwood win these two games. If they split, they'll have the rubber match in Collinwood probably on friday.

Summertown defeats Waynesboro 9-0, Tim Beard pitched well, but not his best by far. Walked 4 with I believe 3 hits in the game. Pitched 6 innings. I think overall Summertown's pitching isn't as strong as I thought it would be, but I haven't seen a team as deep as the Eagles are in the number of kids who pitch well enough to win in Varsity games.

 

 Hitting for the Eagles has been good, but needs to get much better over the next couple weeks to have a chance to win District/Region and make a run toward the 'boro again

Linden sweeps a triple header today (well the first was a junior varsity game technically). Won the first game against Clifton 10-4. The second 11-6 over Waynesboro and then the third game against Waynesboro 6-5. Won against Waynesboro yesterday in Waynesboro 13-10. Linden had two outs in the top of the 7th and one on and started hitting the cover off the ball. Scored seven runs on two outs. I believe my nephew said they are 11-12, 4-7 in the district.

Anybody know what the standings are in the District? I have not been able to go to any of the baseball games this year but hopefully me and the boss (my wife) will be able to go to the District Tournament in Loretto.

i think its 1summertown,2loretto,3perry co and cwood playing wboro thursday as a play in game...

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
