Best girls team to never win a state championship

upperman "should " or could've won 3 state championships.. But obviously they didn't..

Injuries took it's toll on the Upperman team the year that they lost to Jackson Co.by 4 in the Championship that year. I was surprised that they went that far. Power forward Heidi Mead was recovering from Miniscus surgery, and point guard Amber Rose tore her ACL the last reg. season game.

Clarksville High School about five years ago.  Graves- Tennessee, Cooper- Florida(now at Libscomb), Ward Mississippi State (Now at Martin First team OVC newcomer, Gray (1st team all OVC APSU),  and fifth starter signed with Tech,  Off bench Bearden (Tennessee Softball Signee, 10 AAA player of year this year).This team lost to Science Hill two years in a row, who should also be mentioned.

I was thinking about how good the Upperman girls teams of the late 90's and early 00's were. They got to the championship a couple times, once in Class A losing to Gleason and once in Class AA a couple years later losing to district rival Jackson Co. Any other good teams, that were nationally ranked like this Upperman team was at times, to never win it all?

agree they had the big girl who went on to make all ovc at center for tenn tech. Another is the 2010 and 2012 Macon girls. Both lost in finals. (Hat last year they were like up by 5 with under 2 min and lost to CPA. Edited March 23, 2015 by UpperCumberlandMan
