STARSNBARS
You're correct. But would it really be so bad if that happened? No. You play for the first name, not for the wildcats, bears, owls, rebels, or rednecks. If a mascot defines yours school then there are more issues at play then somone taking away a mascot. We ain't gott no mascot RM3.....So end ov disscusshun fer Mairvul....

RonMexico3
It will not happen here. Too many guns. What do guns have to do with mascots? Are you implying the "rebel" name can't be changed because all the fine citizens will pull their guns out? Please explain the gun reference. BT Mafia
We ain't gott no mascot RM3.....So end ov disscusshun fer Mairvul.... In this case, mascot and nickname are synonyms. They may not have a student in dress greys running around waving a flag but that doesn't eliminate the "controversy" attached to Rebels. MERCYRULER
Explain what DA. Did you see the muscle arms emoticons? But you can take it anyway you want to. I for one have always been willing to exercise my Constitutional rights to defend my freedoms. You maybe not so much but then I dont know you.so whats your story and are you here legally ? Do you just troll around trying to get everyone worried about their traditions.? Many a fine citizen gave their lives to have what we have. Here's the deal... political correctness is not law , no matter how much you or someone else may want it to be. The fact is that there is no law that says that I have to like this or that or that i cant say this or that. Granted we should all be polite and respectful of others but up and unto the point where some want others rights violated or ignored because it is good for them or expedient. As for the controvery comment from BT, what controversy? There was a war fought between the several states. 11 of which exercised their right to secede from an ever growing oppressive federal govt that needed the money of the south to run that govt. Lincoln violated the Constitution by breaching the peace and trying to subjugate the Southern States. Let it go man because I can tell you with absolute certainty that in the event that it comes to a law being rammed down our throats over these issues ... history will repeat itself. I put quotes around controversy to indicate I don't think it should be controversial but it is for the very reason you mention, political correctness.
