UNDERSTOOD! ...this week is not the norm PA....Rhea aint no joke and Baylor has a long ride home Friday nght.....not to cheap shot the schools to be mentioned at all; but Tyner, Brainerd, and Howard on their schedules and these games are played at Baylor every year if Booger aint mistaken; no rotating home field; Seriously.....and Baylor has some of the worse parking in the city for a game...........get it though; you need some relieve on your schedule if you can get it......we were everybodys relieve/homecoming team on their schedule just a couple short years ago..

Booger just sayin

I have been to a lot of d2 games at Baylor - BA -MBA- Ensworth. I am never on time and have never had an issue with parking. Playjng in d2 there are very few easy games. Good for Rhea. Would like to see them play BA or MBA this year but the coach knows they have a good team. Cathedral is a notch up from all but the top teams here. I will be pulling for them - I'm non biased against Baylor

Like the game against Oakland last year ?

not sayin Baylor want play that game outside of D2 occasionally and yes the D2 schedule is rugged for sure; but that Howard, Brainerd, Tyner thing with you guys not allowing the game to be rotated back to their home fields is questionable....why you recon the Baylor powers that be want go play those game at their place

I am not a Baylor fan - ( BA ) Baylor is my dog. BA played liberty tech two years in a row at BA - yet when split the series with science hill. Seems like with the smaller schools this is always the case . Have no idea why

Booger bad on that assumption of Red Raider loyalty....that matchup should be one of the better ones in our area this 1st week along with the Hixson/MC, Riverdale/Ooltewah and of course the McMinn Creek war (though that probably is a blow out) with those screamin moms up there will make that an entertaining night

You really have no clue what you are talking about. First off  the DII schedule is brutal, you cant fathom the talent level of Ensworth, Mba, Brentwood, Mus, Father Ryan, Christian Brothers ect.... Those players are going on to play on Saturdays in the sec and at  Miami, Florida State, Stanford and many are in the Nfl. In addition to those teams they have also played Murfreesboro Oakland, Columbia right after their state championships , Knox Catholic in their state championship years, ectt. They cant  play all brutal games every week. Compare their schedule last year versus Notre Dames. I can assure you they would love to play the Notre Dames, Signal mountains East Hamiltons and not have to travel but the fact is not many teams will play them. Brainerd and Howard want to play Baylor because it helps fund their season, they don't want the game at home, they want it at Baylor to raise funds for their programs.

Back to predictions.. should be a good game, I do feel Baylor has some question marks this year and only time will tell how the new guys progress. They lost a lot of linemen and have a new qb in addition to several starters out already with injuries.  Im sure Rhea will try to pound the ball and test Baylors line but Baylors linebacking core is pretty solid so I would expect some good old fashioned smash mouth football,

woe there little feller; your letting your fight or flight reflexes send you over into the black prematurely....and this is not letting you read these post clearly.....what part of Boogers comment above about the D2 schedule being rugged for sure, did not fit the bill....brutal? rugged? though there meanings are not exactly the same, there not that far apart......Booger thinking he can fathom the the talent on those teams and never said there wasnt...its impressive the amount of talent on those fields every Frday night...wouldnt even start to talk about schedule comparison, we dont have the numbers and personnel to run that shedule week end and week out; thats why we are in the class we are;but to say the other teams around the area want play you is not necessarily true

so your saying that the Howards, Brainerds and Tyners per say are only playing you guys at Baylor every year because those funds cant be raised at their own facilities. Will the Baylor fans not go pay the gate at their stadiums?

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
