Sunbright at Harriman

I believe 61 points would be classified as running the score up.

I heard Tapp had told a media personality that he wasnt calling off the dogs against anyone. Find that hard to believe because i played with him under the same coaching staff. We were all taught better than that. Games like this one should be used to build depth. The younger kids pay their dues on the practice field just like starters. If they dont get some snaps during the blowouts he brings very little game experienced players back next season. Ive watched Rockwood sit the starters the entire 2nd half in all three games. It will pay its dividends if we stumble into injuries on down the road. Crucial concept to small schools like Rockwood and Harriman. Good luck next week against Unaka and Go Big Blue

I do some things related with the media and I can tell you flat out that there was no running the score up. It's one thing to throw it around the yard or be running certain plays to score, it's another when you have all your freshman and sophomores in running plays and they still can't stop simple guard traps up the middle. Tapp is way too nice of a guy to run the score up on anybody, though there's one team that comes to town the 25th that my feelings wouldn't be hurt if he decided to run the score up if he got the chance. Kingston has been the only game our starters have not sat the entire second half out.

Are you serious? It was 40-0 in the first quarter?

We had it 32-6 with 4:47 left to go in the 1st quarter and we ended the quarter on that note. 213 rush yards to top that also in the 1st quarter. Halfway through the 2nd quarter it was already 54-6 with around 5 minutes till halftime. That's the type of win the boys had this week. One note to add, all the yards gained, were on the ground in rushing attempts. There were 390 yards gained in 1st half.

I've always said that if you're up big and have your subs in, run your offense like they're starting because you never know when they have to play when it counts.

Exactly. Anybody who knows a thing about our program knows Tapp is one of the classiest coaches there is. He's been in a position of rebuilding before and knows what's it's like and wouldn't intentionally run the score up.
