illinibballfan
so 1 seed is automatic in region and 2 seed should be able to handle the 7-8. the fun part will be the 6-3 and 4-5 matchup.
rabbitranch
who are you considering the 2 best teams? The 1 seed gets a bye and the 2 seed gets 7-8 winner. Am I missing something here? There are eight teams in the district. My 'old guy' math may not be very good but that equals four first round games. Are you saying there is a first round bye for # 1 and a play in game for seven and eight?

It appears your math is correct, unless #8 doesn't qualify. Edited February 10, 2016 by jimbo44
VictoryFormation
A couple of observations after tonight's UHS/SC game: As for the best team in the district, I've now seen the re-match for three of the four teams that have beaten UHS. Scratching my head over how they lost those games the first time around, but they are high school kids. After the last York game, I felt like UHS wouldn't lose again until at least the sectional. Still feel like they won't, but again, who knows what will happen with 16-18 year olds. As for the best player, Guffey was the best on the floor tonight. The kid from Smith does have a good inside game, but BG is a threat from anywhere on the court. In the York game, BG was on the opposite side of the floor from the ball, 25 ft from the basket, and had a guy denying him. I've seen this in other games as well. He may not always have the top stat line, but him getting this kind of attention really opens it up for others. Any player getting this kind of focus from the other team is certainly deserving of MVP consideration.
TheRealKing
Upperman beat Smith by 35???. That can't be right. Did Shepperson play? Shepperson played had 10 points 9 boards... King got hurt... Guards couldn't get ball past half court.. I'd say sc had 20 give or take turnovers... Worse sc play I've yet to see... Final was 69-

What year is Shepperson?
