They call it Roane Co High School but it isnt actually a "true" county school. 4 other schools in the county. Rockwood (2A), Oliver Springs (2A), Midway (1A), and Harriman (1A).

Theyve talked about consolidating all of them together since i was in school back in the 80's. Roane County is so big that it wouldnt be feasible though. Would cost too much to bus kids in to a central location. I dont think we'll ever see it happen.

Is Coalfield not a Roane schools also??

Coalfield and Oakdale are both in rock throwing distance from Roane county

It would be interesting to see all the school combined.build a school in midtown.bus them in and jump to 6a we would have 2k kids.but it won't happen

I pull for the Kingston program! But the stadium is not in my favorites, at least for visitors. Don't get me wrong, the people are very nice, but the bathroom facilities are pretty rough, the concessions are limited, and the visitor's side stands are very low to the ground, with no place for the cheer girls down below on the field, which means they have to stand right in front of those watching the game. However, the home stands are awesome, and the band is one of the very best around. JMO

JacketsFan.....it was my understanding that the high school would be the current Roane State campus (Roane State would build a new college). Its a pipedream that will never happen though. Can you imagine the athletic programs we would have though? Roane County has a ton of talent that is spread amongst the five schools. Competitive would be an understatement.

 

GoVolsKnox.....i have to agree. Kingston is not necessarily accomodating to visiting teams. I went to their opening game and ended up hugging the fence in front of tje concession stand. The first 3 rows of bleachers are useless due to people walking in front of you. Its aleays been that way though. Cant expand the visitors side because of the street that runs behind it.

I was more talking about the view. I usally stand to the right of the vistors stands if your sitting in the stands that is. Its on an incline so you can see the field perfectly! The bathroom and concession are right across from that i think are they not?

Yes it is. I'll have to keep that area in mind if my view is obstructed this week.
