Who Are the Best Teams in East TN?

If it's Meigs Co. to whom you refer, I do like the team. First, they have the right school colors - LOL. Secondly, I saw them play either last year or the year before at the state tournament. They are a scrappy bunch. They do have some "sensitive" fans though as I once encountered a crew of their softball parents at a tournament.

Passionate fans, big difference

Yes, yes it does.

No no it doesnt. If your statement was true then SG should have lost half their games since half the schools they have played this year are larger than them in school size. Just because a school is larger doesn't mean they are better. Applies in all sports not just womans basketball. I'm not taking anything away from McMinn Central because they are a great team and my be better than SG if the 2 actually played.

Yes, yes it does.

SG has played and beaten Greeneville, Grainger, Sullivan East, Gatlinburg-Pittman, Chuckey Doak, and I could continue. So maybe someone should tell SG that they are not supposed to be beating AA teams, since they apparently don't know their role. I didn't see any common opponents that SG has with McMinn Central so I have no way of knowing which is the better team, but to base it on class is just wrong.

If you think a A south green team should be ranked higher than AA mcminn central you haven't watched enough basketball. #CMONMAN

I've seen South Greene play once and McMinn Central twice. I'm willing to admit, South Greene could be somewhere closer to the bottom 5 of those 10 teams, but I'm still picking them over McMinn Central. Classifications do make a difference in quantity of players, but not quality. A single A team will play weaker competition, but as stated earlier, South Greene has quality wins against larger schools. Classifications are much more relevant in football and boys varsity sports when the discrepancy in the average size of players is also much more apparent and relevant. McMinn Central is really good, especially in their own gym. No one has a better home court advantage. Didn't intend to offend you and I won't question your sanity, but I've probably watched over 400 games in the last 15 years. Feel free to create your own top 10. A lot of good female basketball players and teams to watch over the next month.

No one did, just saying comparing SG, to MC is Ludacris.

Have you even say SG play? There loses have come twice to Morristown West who has yet to lose a game in the state of TN and ranked highly in 3a, and Hampton on the worse night they have played all year and lost by 2 in a hostile environment.

Maybe the reason they played bad was Hampton played good, don't make excuses why you lost. Give credit to Hampton, they beat you.

    • Gleason all over west Carroll in scrimmage. Gleason is big and fast
    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
