hoosierdad
I did not see this big of loss coming. Baylor only lost by 11 points when they wrestled Father Ryan for the Cleveland Duals Title. What changed and is this the way it is going to be at the state or will Baylor move their line-up around to help close the gap? Is Baylor missing some starters or is Father Ryan this good? TD2
You got that right. Ryan is peaking and wrestling better right now. They are well coached and and wrestle great at home. I got to watch some of the matches at cleveland. Baylor was probably more dominate and probably should have won that match by 3 - 8 pts. I hear Baylor is still not at full strentgh/seighrs with some of their kids, so Feb. should be interestng. Will CBHS be in the mix...or will it be between FrHs and Baylor? Ryan beat Baylor by 11 I think at the Cleveland Duals and beat them by +20 at Father Ryan. You do realize that Father Ryan was not at full strength at the Cleveland Duals? What matches do you think Baylor would have won at the Cleveland Dual that would have turned the match around? If they were more dominant, what matches? Also, I believe Baylor came with their best team at Father Ryan and it was not enough. What will Baylor do to change the score? You are right, Father Ryan is well coached, but they are well coached at Father Ryan and on the road. Do you think it will be a different at the Cow Palace? I am still wondering how Baylor could beat them. Please explain. Edited January 28, 2016 by hoosierdad
D2guy11
Y'all are counting out a strong McCallie squad who lost to Ryan by 25 with two of their top wrestlers forfeiting at Ryan's two weakest weight classes and still a couple other starters out. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Blue Tornado in the mix come February with Dendy, Herring, and Patton all looking very impressive last night. This team is legit keep your eyes open they could surprise some people this Saturday.
nashwrestling
What can Baylor do to change that box score? Possibly hope some of the FR men come down with the flu? LOL! "Counting out a strong McCallie squad who lost to Ryan by 25" LOLx2 Didn't realize the standard at the EBE had dropped that low to consider a 25pt L a 'strong' team...
WrestlingGod
106 James Killian (Father Ryan) over John Pettway (Baylor School) (Fall 0:53) 113 Christian Simpson (Father Ryan) over Grant Slye (Baylor School) (Fall 3:33) 120 Trey Chalifoux (Father Ryan) over Trevor Milling (Baylor School) (Fall 3:24) 126 Raymond Eason (Father Ryan) over Andy Athchley (Baylor School) (Fall 3:24) 132 Kirby Simpson (Father Ryan) over Jack Reynolds (Baylor School) (MD 11-0) 138 Eli King (Father Ryan) over Austin Atchley (Baylor School) (Fall 2:47) All bonus point wins. That's nuts. THAT is how you win duals.
D2guy11
Correction... a strong McCallie with two of their strongest wrestlers out where they would meet possibly Ryan's two weakest wrestlers those matches will change the entire match. It will be much closer next time the two teams meet. And my prediction is that it will be in the state finals!!!
hoosierdad
Why did McCallie hold those wrestlers out of the Father Ryan match, yet, they wrestled against MBA? Looks like Father Ryan was wrestling with a heavy heart. Read BB's article for explanation. Great article BB. Looking forward to State Duals.
