If Vick doesn't come back, I would have to go with Creek Wood.

I am being told that Vick will return to action this week. With Hickman Co on 1/31 and Wavo on 2/7 (@ Wavo) and holding a 2 game lead in the district I am confident that Camden will hold on to that reg season district champ and make a great run in the tourney

Will be great to have Vick back for the tournament. I felt like the Lions fought hard for the win Friday night, and I expect another physical game tonight with Hickman County. When Camden is shooting well, they are a fun team to watch, but they definitely need Vick on the floor for tournament.

Yep with out Hunter teams try and junk it up a bit and get Physical with our other guards while double and triple teaming Diego Womack. Makes for a ugly game IMO but ya gotta do what ya gotta do to get the wins .

Hunter came back last night and looked like he hadn't missed any time.

The district is really shaping up to provide everyone with some competition in the tournament games. I think Camden, when healthy, is head & shoulders above the field and will be very tough to beat. The others in the district are all very comparable to one another and could possibly make strong runs with the right matchups. Teams 5-9 in the district could all end up anywhere by the end of next week. I think teams 5, 6, and 7 are in a better spot because they would avoid the "play-in" game and having to open at Camden. Therefore they'd all have strong chances to advance to the regional tournament the following week.

DISTRICT STANDINGS

Camden (13-2): @ Waverly (2/7)

Creek Wood (10-5): EHHS (2/7)

Lewis County (6-8): Fairview (2/7 & 2/9)

Stewart County (6-10): ***Finished***

"If" Montgomery Central and Fairview were both to finish 10-6 in the district, and they split their two meetings in the season, what is the tie breaker?

I believe the next tie breaker is record vs. higher seeded teams, starting at #1 and working down to their slots. Then goes to coin flip. I know that is how it was at one time. Someone correct me please if that is incorrect.

Two starters out hurt tonight. The most obvious block in the history of basketball for Fairview to win in the last seconds, and a charge is called. Tough tough place to get a call in Trueville. Just can't leave it in a ref's hand at Lewis. Ever. Even the Panther fans knew the got a gift. A couple of them even felt guilty and apologized for the call. Opposing fans! lol That's life. Looking forward to the tournament.

District 11-AA Standings:

1.). Camden (14-2)

2.). Creek Wood (11-5)

3.). Montgomery Central (10-6)

4.). Fairview (8-7)

5.). Lewis (7-8)

6.). Stewart (6-10)

7.). Hickman (5-11)

8.). East Hickman (5-11)

9.). Waverly (5-11)

The Bracket:

1.). Camden

8.). East Hickman vs 9.). Waverly

4.). Lewis/Fairview WINNER on 2/9

5.). Lewis/Fairview LOSER on 2/9

3.). Montgomery Central

6.). Stewart

2.). Creek Wood

7.). Hickman

The Break Down:

Camden is the district championship winner for the regular season and #1 seed.

Creek Wood is the #2 seed.

Montgomery Central is the #3 seed.

On Thursday Lewis County travels to Fairview. The winner of that game is the #4 seed and the loser is the #5 seed.

Stewart County is the #6 seed.

Hickman County is the #7 seed and wins the three-way tiebreaker with East Hickman & Waverly because they swept the head to head series with Waverly. Hickman County & East Hickman split the regular season + Waverly & East Hickman split the regular season.

East Hickman is the #8 seed and owns the head to head tiebreaker with Waverly because of their win against Camden.

Waverly is the #9 seed.

Tournament Information with dates will be provided later this week. It's crazy to think that this basketball season has already reached its conclusion.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
