No way GCA beats Waverly by 30.  It's going to be a wet field and it will be tough for either team to put up 30 let alone a 30 point margin of victory.  I've watched GCA and unless they can figure out a way to get spread the ball around and use someone other than their QB I don't see them winning this week.  He is talented kid but he is only one of eleven on the field.  Also, from what I've read, Waverly went to the AA semi's last year and they are returning most of their team.  This should be a huge challenge for the little school from Wilco.  Good luck.

Moore Co by 14...wet conditions may allow Cornersville to get some extra yards

Waverly by 21+

Fayetteville by 7...Huntland may sneak up on them (wet conditions will hurt Fayetteville athletes)

Mt Pleasant by as many as they want

My ignorance is showing and i obviously didn't do the research on Waverly.  i was being a region "homer".  I agree that GCA relies very heavily on their QB Amor.  Get pressure on him and it will not be pretty for GCA.  We'll see how the wet field and conditions affect their play.  Thanks for the insight Spotlight.

Game was cancelled due to a flooded field.  Good luck to everyone else.

IF everybody comes back healthy I will also pick MTP with the upset.

I agree on all the other scores as well

I don't see Cornersville losing to Mt Pleasant. It may even be 35-0 if Fayetteville beat MtP up like I heard last week!

Moore with upset over Fayetteville 28-7

Grace as bad as they want it to be!

Jo Byrns over Huntland 28-7

5A will finish as follows:

Cornersville:popcorneater:

Moore Co :thumb:

Fayetteville:angry:

Grace8-)

Mt Pleasant:o

Huntland:oops:

Richland:?

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
