footballfanatic
Anyone know what happened with the Coffee Co. Moore Co. game?
tbuc50
The cc boys won 74-47. They played very well. Probably will have a great season. The girls played well but they lost by 2 on a very bad call with .9 seconds left.
mynameis
Any idea as to any of that stats form the boys game? Congrats to those guys and the girls have nothing to worry about they are in for a very successful season
footballfanatic
Did Micah Williams, freshman for CC, play at all? I heard that he may be ineligible to play this year. Did he dress out?
tbuc50
no. he can't play until Feb. 10. at least that's what tssaa ruled. he did not dress out.
mikemcgee
Tell me if I have a correct understanding of the situation: Micah Williams is a freshman who lives in the county. He had paid tuition to attend the city junior high until his ninth-grade year, then decided to attend the county high school. Now, the TSSAA tells him he is ineligibe because he is going to the county high school, even though he lives in the county. Is that correct? I honestly don't know, but that's what I've heard. coachdavid
Mike what you heard and said is correct. Coffee appealed to the TSSAA and since there was no change of residence and he still had a year left at Westwood he can only play JV for now. He will be eligible to play after FEB.10 which will be one year from Westwoods last game last year. He will be able to play in 4 regular season games and the tournament. I hope that cleared everything up.
mikemcgee
That's typical of the TSSAA. This is not a ninth-grader wanting to transfer mid season. It's kid coming out of the eighth grade that wants to attend the high school where he is zoned to attend. He simply chose to go through eighth grade at the city junior high rather than the county middle school and he paid tuition to do it. With all the loopholes they allow and all the times they've turned their heads to other situations, this one is just plain ridiculous. Rukidnme
I totally agree Mike. But what else do we expect from TSSAA? You know all about the good relationship with TSSAA and Coffee Co. By the way stats for last nights game...Jerry Green 22 points, Daniel West 12 points, Cole Brazier and Corey Solomon 8 points and seven other players scored. They scored 24 points in the opening period.
