This Friday, August 11, seven teams ranging from Knoxville to Chattanooga will square off on the artificial turf at Eagle Stadium. Each game will have two regulation quarters with stoppage of the clock on 1st downs, at the beginning of possessions, and incomplete passes. The times for the match-ups are as follows:

Cleveland Blue Raiders vs. Lenoir City Panthers- 6:00

Stone Memorial Panthers vs. Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish- 7:00

*Rhea County Eagles vs. McMinn County Cherokees- 8:00

Rhea County Eagles vs. Bradley Central Bears- 9:00

*Walker Valley was originally scheduled to play this game, but backed out and a replacement could not be found.

Each team has the opportunity to sell tickets before the jamboree. The ticket price is $10, and 100% of the proceeds from the pre-sold tickets will be able to be kept by each team. There will still be tickets available for the same price at the gate for the jamboree, but the proceeds will be split up among the participating teams.

What do you all expect from this jamboree? I know the offenses will be very vanilla, especially in the case of the Rhea/McMinn and Rhea/Bradley games because they will meet again during the regular season, but how do you expect Friday night to turn out?

Didn't think WV would or even could play in 2 jamborees in 1 weekend. That would be asking for trouble of injuries and such. Would have been nice if they would have backed out of the Saturday jamboree though.

This should just be a good smash mouth scrimmage for Rhea and Bradley. Maybe a few passes to losen things up and practice. May not even see the same plays in the regular season matchup unless it works out that neither team has an answer for lol.

Biggest and most important question is, it being Friday night lights, y'all having burgers there friday???

We most certainly are! Concession stand behind the press box will be full of burgers, hot dogs, drinks, and snack cakes! Helped stock it myself on Saturday!

Jamborees like this are fun and it gives teams a chance to do one last dress rehearsal before things get cranked up the next Friday. Jamborees in this format gives everyone a brief chance to see what teams look like. Of course I'm interested in seeing all the teams, but Catholic and Cleveland are the ones in particular I want to see. I think for Rhea you will see the starters for a series or two then let the younger guys get some playing time. I'm also interested in seeing Bradley with life after Copeland (Go Mocs!). I know they return pretty much everyone but Copeland is just one of those rare type of players.

Also I hope to see a big crowd come out from all schools. Weather during the day dosnt look good but that night is shaping up to be pretty good. Then again that could change 30 times before Friday.

LOL - Walker Valley tried to get out of playing McMinn County and another nearby team this season.

Great turn out tonight. Very impressed by Catholic, Cleveland and Bradley. Rhea looked pretty solid tonight and improved from the Anderson scrimmage. I can wait for my favorite rivalry Rhea Co vs Cleveland

WHOMEVER HAS THE BEST RUN GAME WILL WIN THIS MATCHUP. BLUERAIDERZ ALWAYS HAVE ISSUES IN THE TRENCHES BUT THAT BACKFIELD IS SNEAKY. GOOD LUCK..

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
