Limited numbers is an interesting subject. I agree with you. I wish that we had more than we do. Maybe someday...... I'm curious.....how many of your best players play both ways?

It can be as high as 8 depending on what defense we are in. Coach would prefer just 5 but it is what it is with 43 kids.

We certainly understand the numbers thing. We've got a good bunch of seniors, but then our experience drops off dramatically. I'm hoping our lack of 2-way players helps us a bit. Then again, we don't have the best athletes playing both ways either. It seems to me the best teams we've played have all of their best players playing on both sides of the ball, including linemen. I don't know which way is best, to be honest. I'm just trusting the coaches to know what they're doing. They sure know more than me.

We hung 62 on hv's jv Monday night.  It's a big drop off from their first string

Our JV has beaten all comers so far.....We've got a pretty good group of frosh athletes, but low in linemen. RB going to have to attract linemen to really build the program into a DII-AA contender. We've always had a handful of athletes.

I'm with you on that. It seems that having more 2 way guys isn't as bad as you might think. How many 2 way guys does Alcoa use? I went down there last year for the Maryville game and I know they had 80+ kids

There first string are some big strong boys. They did a little log P.T. over the summer. So I would say them boys are well conditioned down in the trenches. Wonder if GCA can wear them down sense HV plays both sides of the ball?

They had a bunch, but the kids that made all the plays certainly played both ways. That's pretty much how it goes, I guess.
