Has anyone heard of local counties schools closing Thursday and Friday because of cold weather? And if so will that affect eligibility to compete at this event and other sporting events in the area this weekend?

With  the schools being closed due to extreme cold weather and not inclement weather (snow or ice) or illness I would hope the various school districts would allow the teams the opportunity to compete but I have very little faith in school administrators making any type of logical decision.  This will be a CYA decision for the local school districts.  If the school superintendent has a family member with an opportunity to do well in the tournament that school district will compete.  Other than that they will stay home and play video games with the hot chick down the street and we now know the rest of the story.
